Into the Past

It has been a week since Augustus arrival in Aventurine. Even though he was reluctant Augustus stayed…. because he wanted to see who his real parents were. Augustus hardly had any memory of his father. When he tried to recollect he could see a blurry image of a huge man tightly wrapping him around his arms. His face was dark and bloody, eyes sharp and narrow. The first question that Hideki answered after hearing that Augustus was willing to live there and take responsibility Hideki by himself started recalling the yesterdays he had spent with Lucas.

“Lucas” – Hideki said – “had to fight his way to the throne.”

“Trade is one way in which Aventurine establishes its authority. But your grandfather was taken advantage of in this. Our trade includes the conversion of evil souls into pure ones. Mind you, it is a complex procedure. An acquaintance of your grandfather had tricked him and it would have brought our doom if had it not been for your mother, Serene. She saved all of us. Following her plan we were able to stop the crime. Your mother was an excellent woman, in every way possible. Nothing ever went unnoticed by her. She had a very kind appearance but her words and actions to dishonest evil doers were like sharp arrows of ice. To her the wellness of her kingdom meant the most. She was ready to sacrifice everything for her kingdom. Even herself. And when the time came she did. You, Augustus – you were her most precious being, you were her Kryptonite.”

Her intelligence in warfront, trade, and in welfare of Aventurine had raised questions on who should be the actual heir to Aventurine. Many people wanted Serene to be the ruler, including your father himself.  However, this was unacceptable in the land of Spirit Quartz, because Lucas was the chosen one. Hence, the land was divided into two halves, one wanted Serene as the ruler and the other half of majority wanted Lucas. And before any revolt would occur it was nipped in the bud. Most importantly Serene had no wish to become the ruler and she herself made sure that no problem arose in the kingdom because of this.

Soon after, Lucas had become the ruler. Lucas was an extremely meticulous and a sensitive ruler. He was an empathetic man. His spirit was one of a kind. Since his childhood he had the ability to revive souls. Once he had spotted an injured blue-deer and he eventually revived the little deer by channeling his healing ability to the deer. The blue deer became his pet afterwards.   His empathy helped him to get through people as well as all living beings. Lucas cared too much. He cared for his Serene, his subjects, the army, guards, you and me equally. He was devoted to his kingdom and to prove his worth to the spirit Quartz he trained hard.

Every child in Aventurine is born with some kind of abilities. The abilities differ due to the genes and lineage. The royal people have different abilities from the mass of course. Lucas had the power to heal any living being when he was born. He was also a quick learner. Archery, swimming, kendo, Taekwondo, horseback riding, fencing, he had mastered all. Moreover he was skilled in art, music and language. Because of his ability to learn foreign languages quickly there were numerous times when he went as espionage to other lands for our kingdom. He had become every ones favourite. Lucas however deemed himself as lacking in many areas.  Like Serene Lucas’ only weakness was Serene. Lucas treated Serene as the noblest of all. He would often consult with Serene regarding the matters of kingdom. It was a secret between the three of us.

At the age of twenty two Lucas was crowned the king. One tradition rather a ceremony during the coronation was choosing the sword of Romanser. There were seven swords and they had within them the spirits of our seven ancestors. Ancestor spirits of Bismuth had chosen Lucas. Bismuth is believed to protect one from the darkness and evil personas.

“I feared that may be somewhere a huge mischance is awaiting for my little brother. When I saw that Bismuth had chosen Lucas I felt relieved,….but we have lost him”

Are you sure? I mean have you searched for him?—Augustus asked.

Yes we did, and some of us are still doing. Since that attack, since your transmigration I have been looking for your father— his Majesty.    

The accident was planned— by someone from our kingdom, don’t you think so? Augustus looked serious.

Hideki’s silence was back.

You do…. And what about Serene, my mother?

She had died in that attack, she sacrificed to save you. Like I said you were her Kryptonite.

I apologize from beforehand. All these are too much to take in at a go. I was an orphan but bow I know I am the heir of a spiritual world that is under attack.I do not know how I am supposed to react to all of these?

I understand young master Augustus.

Augusts cringed at Hideki’s words. ‘young master—huh’—he thought to himself chucking a little.
