We don’t have any choice. Moreover we do not have much time left. We are in a fragile state. If we do not start taking actions we will soon lose everything.

Hideki motioned his hand in air making an invisible sign and immediately three of them vanished.

“Your majesty our espionages have returned and they have confirmed it. The hideous creature has returned from the underworld. It has gotten stronger and wants nothing but your destruction”

You know what we have to do. You had promised that when time comes you will not hesitate.

What promise Father?

 A little boy ran towards them mid conversation. He had caramel skin, long curly hair, with big round green eyes. Combined with straight  wide lips, a roman shaped nose his eyes would give off a soft yet sharp, unwavering cold gaze especially when stared at someone unknown.

You may now excuse us.

 My Majesty. 

The man in royal blue cloak left.

“Son in battlefield we make promises and one of them is to never back down from our word. If you are a man of honour you must do what you preach”

“Father?  Are you going for battle again?

I shall have to my son

Will you take me?

Will you be able to protect yourself? If yes  I shall bring you one day.

Yes father I am capable enough, answered the young child proudly.

And will you be able to protect your people my son?

Staring at his son’s confused expression the father continued

“My son, my heir, you are no ordinary descendent, you have heavy responsibilities upon  your shoulders, you  have to carry this kingdom forward, look after your subjects and progress with time. You have to be invincible. That is your destiny.”

 With joyful tears the father kneeled on his knees hugged his son and whispered to his sons ears

“only you can save us…. But I am afraid…my...son… that I may not see you again… forgive me son for sacrificing you”

He pushed his son vigorously and the quiet palace started quaking. Pillars were turning to dust. Fire has struck the place.  People were running in helter-skelter. 

The little heir saw his father transforming into a hideous monster who looked hungry for energy for souls of humans and his prime target was his son

“No father …………father”

Gust woke up in cold sweat.

Where am I?

He was little shocked to see an old man standing beside him waiting for him to gain consciousness

“Augustus Lucas Light we welcome you. We have been waiting for years for this day when you would successfully transmigrate into the realm of Aventurine”

What are you talking about? Who are you?  Aventurine?

Please let me explain—

 A deep calm voice was heard. Soon it’s possessor appeared before Gust.

It was the same man who had appeared at the time of truck accident. This time his face was clearly visible. He was an  old man and it was clear that through years he has gained wisdom.

You must be confused right now Augustus since the last memory you had was of witnessing your death.

You are not dead Augustus.  You have returned to your kingdom your home Aventurine

Kingdom? Returned?

Right. Aventurine is where you were born. You are the son of Lucas Light, the king of Aventurine,  the land of life. Aventurine has existed since the birth of Earth. It’s a parallel world to earth. Almost. Except,  Aventurine is where one can attain absolute spiritual power , become invincible.

Hideki paused and looked at Gust, who he claimed to be Augustus.

He almost could read his eyes.

You find it impossible to believe us?

Why should I believe you? This whole thing could have been staged. Tricking me into something dangerous.  Till date there have been many discoveries of planets, but Aventurine has never been mentioned and suddenly you who looks and breathes just a non-alien human claims to be some spiritual other worldly stuff??!!

Augustus? You have been day dreaming and having visions for the past few months… am I correct?

How do you know? Yes…yes but how are they-

Can you exactly tell how many months?

Four months…ten days past four months to be exact.

No…you have started having these visions since your 18th birthday. Hideki answered calmly.

He continued since your 18th birthday you have started having manifestations of Aventurine, and all incidents that happened here. Well you don’t understand them all the time because they are in fragments.

Yes. It was confusing, so I started drawing them but I still don’t understand who I am? Your style of explaining is not helpful at all. Can you just tell me straight what is going on and how does this place look exactly like my dream?

You must be in shock Augustus. I have been trying to explain it to you since you have awaken. And you keep cutting me. You must get rid of such ugly practices. Allow me Augustus to tell you what you need to know of.

As said earlier you belong from Aventurine, and will henceforth be addressed Augustus by all of us. You had lived here till you were five years old. You are the son of King Lucas Light and Queen Serene Light. You were the most cherished, valued, treasure of our kingdom. Not only because you were the sole heir but because you were destined to bring our kingdom eternal peace and harmony by defeating Behemoth. He is the one who attacked Aventurine when you were five. Behemoth knew about the prophecy of being killed in the hands of Light but not the person so Behemoth ventured to destroy Aventurine completely despite calling a truce with your father Lucas Light.

“We had figured out that Behemoth would attack us but he conjured and sealed deal with the underworld. He was ready to sell the souls of our people to devil. To stop this your father sacrificed himself and-”

“Me- Augustus answered. I saw it in a vision, him whispering that he loved me but he was helpless”

“Is he a—a live?”

The silence answered.

“How did I die?”

“I killed you. That was my promise that I made to your father.  We all have special abilities one being able to transport people to other world. This is what I meant by killing. I transported you to earth and erased your memories of Aventurine so that no one could track you. You would lead a normal life till you were eighteen. After you are eighteen your memories start coming back and your latent abilities start manifesting. Eighteen marks the beginning of your ceremony”

What ceremony? Some sort of entering into adulthood?

Yes, it marks the age when Aventurine decides whether you are capable of being our king but it is not an easy task. It requires rigorous physical and mental training, strict discipline, and inner peace.

Kneeling before Augustus Hideki pleaded “Your father, your world needs you, you are our last hope. Defeating Behemoth will not be easy but with your guidance we can”

Augustus froze.  He was still filtering in what was happening. Dazed he asked, “why me? I am just an 18 years old kid? How can I save anyone more over a WORLD?”

“I do not have powers or as such the abilities you were taking about. I can’t even protect myself FROM BULLIES”

Augustus screamed. He was shaking.

I died and came back to my home!!

“You have secretly looking for your identity Augustus, we know that………………..all your memories will soon return. With training you will be able to manifest abilities like us. None of us were handed them for free.”

What if I say no?

You will be sent back to your world but you will carry all these memories. However the past memories will be blocked forever. No more visions of your childhood. In your world you will be Gust.

You are allowing me to leave? Don’t you want to kill that creature?

Augustus until you are mentally and spiritually willing to return to your world, to be one with Aventurine you are of no purpose. And I don’t intend to force you. Everything should happen naturally.

You may leave if you want to. Our guards will take you to your world but you can never come back. If I were you I would spend a day before leaving, it is a beautiful place. It wouldn’t do any harm to look around the place. Perhaps you might change your mind.

Hideki left the luxurious room and everyone followed him. Only two attendants were standing out the door.

Augustus had seen this room before in his vision. His logic wanted him to leave the place but his heart kept longing for something familiar and ultimately he sided with his heart.
