Laurena was less competent with the firearms. By day two she could at least hit the target every time at six meters with one of the pistols, but out past ten meters her accuracy decreased dramatically. David figured she might have had an easier time with a smaller framed pistol - a compact or subcompact frame - but the large framed M9's were all he had. She was hopeless with the rifles. Both were about equal in skill with knife fighting - which pretty much meant they should manage to not stab themselves accidentally in an actual fight - but he figured they could at least hold off an untrained opponent long enough for him to come to their rescue.
The surprise was Laurena's skills with unarmed combat. She seemed to intuitively grasp how to move her entire body to increase the force of her punches and kicks, and he never had to show her a grappling move more than once. By the second day he was taking turns with Sapphire to spar against the acolyte, the Dracian no longer able to keep up with Laurena on the mat. She wasn't even close to his level yet, but she was damn good for a beginner. In addition to growing their skills, the training was also growing a friendship between Sapphire and Laurena. When the trio went to bed that night, happy with their accomplishments, both women drifted off to sleep chatting about the day's successes and failures. David praised them for learning so quickly, and the pair countered by saying it would never have been possible without such an amazing teacher...while snuggling closely to either side of their Champion.
The third day began with a review of everything they had done earlier, and then he introduced a set of foam covered sticks. Having never studied sword-fighting, he taught them escrima (Filipino stick fighting) in the hope that at least some of what he knew would transfer. There were more than a few bumps and bruises that day, as well as a broken finger or two, but all of them were capable of healing the injuries. A big surprise came when Laurena chose to heal one of her own broken fingers.
Chanting the spell, she felt her magic infuse the damaged digit and heal the break effortlessly. The ease with which she did so shocked her. Noticing the look on her face, both David and Sapphire inquired about it.
"I just cast a healing spell on my hand...and it was easy," he told them. "I normally struggle with even minor healing, and my finger should have taken quite a bit more of my power than it did."
"Have you noticed any changes in your magic lately?" Sapphire asked.
"Not really, but I have not attempted anything challenging before now," Laurena responded.
"Try the light conjuration spell, it will show you if your magic has increased somehow," Sapphire suggested.
Laurena was hesitant to try, she did not wish to share with them how feeble her magic truly was, but she stiffened her spine. They had both done so much for her, and over the last few days had shown respect and appreciation for her dedication. They deserved her trust. Also, she was curious.
Chanting the spell softly, she held up her hand and was amazed at how brightly it glowed. Even in the afternoon sun it shone, illuminating as powerfully as a well lit torch. Looking to Sapphire she exclaimed, "It has never been this bright before. Not even close. This is an order of magnitude brighter than I was ever able to accomplish before."
"I have also noticed an increase with my magic," Sapphire replied. "During the attack I cast a telekinesis spell that was far more powerful than I had intended, and I had just assumed it was the excitement of the battle. That night when I conjured our bedding it was effortless. I began to suspect that my magic had grown."
Both of them turned to look at David, and he shrugged. "I've got so much 'mojo' how would I even know if there was more?"
Sapphire contemplated his strange response for a moment, and then was forced to agree. They hadn't even seen his full potential that first night, cancelling the spell before it blinded all of them. Even if he had somehow gained more power, she knew of no way to determine it.
"But, how?" Laurena asked.
"Isn't the sharing of love in an Erosian service supposed to boost the magic of the attendees for a time?" David inquired.
"Not that much," Laurena replied.
"Maybe the fact that it was with a Champion of Eros made it more powerful," Sapphire suggested.
Laurena considered this idea for a few moments, before beginning to slowly nod. It made sense.
"Wait a minute. Are you really suggesting I have a magic d**k?" " David interjected, recalling the still unexplained growth in his equipment.
Looking at him sexily, Sapphire practically purred, "Oh yes, it definitely felt magical."
Laurena walked to the Dracian and snaked an arm around her waist, deciding to join her new friend in teasing David. "I have to agree with Sapphire, the orgasms were truly enchanting."
David just rolled his eyes while the two partners-in-crime snickered at him. It wasn't like the s*x had sucked. In fact it had been pretty epic, even with the whole mysterious p***s enlargement. But he wasn't sure that the two beauties standing before him and giving him the same look a fat man gives an all-you-can-eat buffet was a good thing.
"Ladies, can we please focus?"
"Yes David," they sing-songed simultaneously. It was like they had some sort of 'f*****g with a man's head' psychic wonder-twin power.
Setting aside the discussion of his s****l prowess - and any affect it had on their magical power - the two women returned to training, but that was not the end of the issue. During dinner that evening there was a whole lot of whispered conversation between the two that David wasn't invited to participate in. He was pretty damn sure that a conspiracy was afoot, but he had no clue what it would mean for his future.
