The next morning the trio resumed their travels refreshed, but not particularly well rested. Each time David yawned in the saddle Sapphire would flash a mischievous grin at Laurena, who would respond with one of her own. The pair had enjoyed his efforts of the previous evening, and they were already conspiring to do it again. Once the women had finished thoroughly using him, Laurena had taken first watch. David had been extremely thankful for this, and had slept like the dead until being awakened for the last watch shift only a few hours before dawn, both ladies having taken pity on his exhausted form.
