Henri is at the hospital at Roches-Premarie-Andille, following up on a lead about Serge’s mother. When he got out of his car, he left his phone in the console in the door. He usually doesn’t leave his phone behind, but his phone is about to die, and he cannot charge it. He shuts the car door and locks the car remotely while walking towards the hospital. Inside the car his phone starts to ring, and the caller ID shows that it is Natalie.
For the umpteenth time Natalie tries Henri’s phone. He is not answering either the phone they connected for them at the bed and breakfast or his cellphone. This is so frustrating; he never leaves his phone and always answers especially if it is her phoning. She puts the phone next to her on the seat.
