Claudine's friend Denise went to the farm to inform Claudine that the police will be picking her up and taking her to Paris. She didn't have more information than that.
Claudine is sitting at her kitchen table. She wonders why they want to take her to Paris. The Paris police will be here any moment and she doesn't know what to expect. She packed an overnight bag, just in case. Paris is a few hours away and she is sure she won't be back home by tonight.
She hears a knock on the door and gets up to open the door. A police officer is standing on the porch. "Madame Taduk, we are here to take you to Paris." The police officer says.
"I am ready" She says, picking up her overnight bag at the door and pulling the door close behind her.
