Nicholas found himself in an unexpected meeting with the Alphas, and he was well aware of the topic at hand. Lounging against his desk chair, he remarked, “We’re all aware that Hunter paid a visit, but I’m afraid I have nothing to report to all of you.”
“What do you mean if you have nothing to report, Nicholas?” Leonard’s inquiry was pointed. “You seem unable to keep him under control. Do you know how uncomfortable it is for Hunter to be here without us knowing exactly where he went to if not here?”
“I concur with Alpha Leonard,” another Alpha chimed in. “It’s unsettling to think that Hunter’s activities here went unnoticed. No one knows why he was here.”
Leonard reiterated his point, his tone firm. “Hunter can be like a ticking time
