While Jess was away, Hunter was engaged in an important phone call with someone he called Ally. “Listen, Ally, this situation goes beyond just us and the entirety of Phoenix Peaks. I’m not stepping into dangerous territory—not yet.”
“And how can you be sure she’s the one?” Ally’s voice questioned from the other end of the line.
“Because I’m not an i***t,” Hunter replied, his voice firm. “There’s a reason she could kill me, anyway. This… this is all part of a larger game, I can feel it. From the stupid prophecy to the witches manipulating the situation, telling me I need to stop killing, and now this? I need to get to the bottom of it,” Hunter replied, his voice filled with determination.
“Do you still want to die, Hunter?” Ally asked, his tone serious.
