The silence that followed Xerxes’s words to Alpha Caelum was deafening. You could almost feel the weight of everyone’s held breath hovering in the air like a ghost. The air was thick with anticipation and dread.
Despite the grin on Alpha Caelum’s lips, I could feel the rage radiating from his pores. He was not going to let any form of disrespect just slide. And we all knew that.
Nasir and Liam knew that as well. One could easily tell that they were more than ready to back up their brother. It was at that moment that I realized the music had stopped, even the servants present had a bead of sweat trickling down their heads.
