The morning light filtered through the heavy curtains of Trinity's guest room, casting golden patterns across the luxurious bedding. I'd been awake for a while now, but I kept my breathing steady and my eyes closed, not wanting to wake her up. She looked so peaceful as she slept.
After the nightmare that had gripped Trinity last night, her terrified screams and what she told us about "the lady in the shadows," we'd all agreed that someone should stay with her.
Xerxes and Liam had reluctantly left when dawn broke.
