Cody had Skyler drop him off at Dominic’s house as soon as they woke up at one in the afternoon. Hair disheveled and with bags under his eyes, Cody joined the group forty minutes late. He’d lied to Skyler about the nature of the group, and watched his friend drive off with a hesitant look on his face. Naomi and Lin greeted him, and Adam avoided eye contact. Irene wasn’t there, and Cody wondered if Caleb was keeping their relationship secret.
“Sorry I’m late. I was out all night with this guy,” Cody said, making it sound as vaguely s****l as he could, just to jab at Adam. “So, where were we?” He sat next to Lin and folded his arms, his eyes locked on Adam’s large frame.
