Chapter 25December 25th Victor awoke, vaguely aware of Jian having been up several times during the night. “Are you okay,” he whispered, knowing he had asked before, but couldn’t remember what Jian had replied. “Is it morning?” “I think so.” Victor reached for his phone. “Half past seven.” “Oh, thank God.” “God’s son.” Jian frowned at him. “What?” “It’s what today is about.” “No, it’s not. I know what it’s about. Stay here, I’ll be right back.” He rolled out of bed, nearly walking into the wall on his way out of the room. Victor frowned. What if he had a fever or something? It would put a damper on Christmas. They didn’t have any plans though, and Jian couldn’t help if he’d gotten sick. It would only be the two of them all through the holiday. Victor huffed.
