***Cassandra's POV***
I didn't even take ten steps when I felt a presence behind me.
"Well done. She will soon take over from you, my Star."
I froze in place.
"I had some help."
On one hand, I saved myself from suspicion.
On the other hand, I may have just received my death warrant.
"Walk with me, my Star."
Without room for a reply, he turned around and walked towards the Lake.
I walked behind him, not wanting to come off the wrong way.
I think he might know.
When we reached the Lake, I stopped next to him, on his left.
He took a deep breath, then sighed.
"I spoke to Sheila while you were away."
My heart stopped.
My blood ran cold and I froze.
"Do you know why the Stars cannot use their magic in daylight on Earth?"
