CHAPTER 3

1335 Words
At campus. As I walk to class, I am being given looks of envy, they think I have everything a girl could wish for, 'Laughing internally'. They do not know what they are being envious of because if they knew they would be running as fast as they could, money can't buy everything. "Hey, little one." My brother greets me while giving the guys looking our way; a stink eye, I nudge him softly on the arm to stop him and I am not going to tell to stop calling me 'little' one because he is not going to. "Hey, how was your morning?", I ask because he has dark circles under his eyes like he did not sleep and he looks tired like he is carrying the whole world on his shoulders, yet he still looks handsome with his stunning blue eyes, that we the Odinson's family inherit. Jushiro and Kushiro are a younger version of my uncle, they inherited their mother's eyes; she was my Grandfather Odin's younger sister, I never met her but I would have loved to meet her based on the stories I have heard about her. He just shrugged his shoulders and started to complain, "Tiring, we had to work on this business proposal last night that father wants, but other than that, everything is perfect now that you are here." He said, hugging me tightly and placing a kiss on top of my head, I winced letting out a soft moan; on high alert, he looked at me and asked, "What is wrong?" "Nothing, you just squished me too hard." Trying to act nonchalant about it and come up with a lie "Sorry little one, I forgot that you are a marshmallow" smiling despite the pain, I know he wouldn't hurt me deliberately if he knew; in fact, if he knew; he would go on a man hunt for me. "No problem and I am not a marshmallow." I couldn't tell him what the real problem was, both my brothers just have this psychotic side, and they are proud of it. Thankfully, he let it go for now. He asked me again, "How was class this morning?" I shrugged before replying "It was boring, you were not there", I ended with a pout, and he gave a big toothy grin on my reply, he is my own personal sunshine on a gloomy day. "I told you guys, you all can't live without the presence of yours truly" he said while pointing at his entire body and he was not lying, we can't live without him; his absence is greatly felt. We looked at each other and bust out laughing, drawing unwanted attention. Looking at my watch, I stood up and started to pack my stuff. "Come on, let's go to class." he opened his mouth to whine like a baby. "I will be your date to that dinner, you won't stop complaining about," that shut him up, as I know he has been dreading it. He smiled at me like I am his savior; technically, I am, I am saving him from all those girls that will be on him the whole night. I also gave him the notes I wrote for him since he missed morning class. He then said in a loud voice, "I love you so much," that gained even more attention, which gained me hateful gazes from the girls but chose to ignore them like always. We went to our next class. After class, Christina went to visit her uncle at the office as he has always been complaining that ever since she got married, she does not love him anymore. She greets the security at the entrance, and they greet back, smiling like always. She enters the lift and presses the top floor. "Hey Christie", She meets Eva, who smiled upon seeing her. Christina smiled back at the kind soul, "Hey Evie," she responds as energetic, and her smile got brighter at the nickname. Only Christina get the privilege of calling her that. "You can go in," she said while continuing to go wherever she was going. As she walks into her uncle's office, she realizes he was in a meeting with four men in their mid-60s, one in his late 20s, too late to turn back now. "Sorry, I didn't know there was a meeting, Eva said I could get in, but it's okay. I will come back when the meeti..." she said in a sheepish manner, feeling ashamed for barging in without knocking. "It's okay Jellybean, we were about to conclude the meeting, how are you?" Toshiro said with a pearly smile, and the four men were shocked by the change of her uncle's mood. Yeah, one can say he is kind of bipolar. Her uncle said, giving her a hug and placing a kiss on top of her head. "Pretty decent, considering the heavy workload we get at school," I replied as I turned to the men in the room who looked at us curiously, "Good afternoon, gentlemen," she said to them, feeling ashamed for interrupting their meeting. They looked at her weirdly, you see as I have mention before; she has natural silver hair mostly mistaken for a bleached-platinum colour and a bronze skin with sapphire eyes, she now is used to it, it has always been like that since she was young. They answered in a daze. "Afternoon, Miss Lannister," they greeted her back after getting out their daze. "Miss Lannister should not fret, as Mr Uchiha said we were concluding the meeting; Mr Uchiha have a good day, same with the young Lady." She tried to smile politely regardless of how the guy in his late twenties was looking at her too intensely, and it was uncomfortable, "Likewise." He averted his eyes when my Toshiro cleared his throat and gave him a stink eye. When they were out of the door, Toshiro turned to look at her with a smile on his face and asked, "What do you want to eat?" She replied with a forced toothy grin "I will have a salad, and no one is forcing me to eat the greens" she intercepted him before he can start, but it looks like he was expecting it and he was not prepared to leave it alone. "It's just weird, you hate anything that looks and tastes healthy, even when we threatened you with leaving you alone in a cave you wouldn't budge," He is not wrong though, but times have changed; she is no longer in control of her life, she must ask permission before doing something or going somewhere, but he does not need to know any that. "Because I know you guys love me too much to do that and who would want see this cute face sad," She with a goofy smile that he was used to seeing on her face. She made doe eyes and pouted. She looked like a little baby. Her uncle's face was priceless, it's times like these when he wished a black whole would appear and swallow him whole. He kept chanting to not fall for Christina's cute face, but he was failing miserably. All the memories of her childhood flooded his thoughts. He still can not believe time how much has passed. This angel is no longer the wrecking ball she used to be. She is a rainbow after a rainy day, she spreads love everywhere she goes. Lately, she is not herself, the light in her eyes is becoming dim little by little, and it breaks his heart to see his daughter like this. She looks like a wiltered flower. He is afraid that they will lose her forever if they do something soon. This little angel deserves the heaven and earth. She's too innocent for this world, no one deserve her, and those who are blessed to have her in their lives take her for granted. It's just a matter of time before she breaks.
