Tasha and I greet our pack members and members from the other pack.
I can tell my dad is pleased with how well we are behaving so far.
The Alpha to the other pack hasn't shown up yet, but I know he's coming soon.
There's some music playing, people dancing and enjoying some food and some of the drinks that were put out.
People chatting and laughing, all having a good time.
It's not one of those out-of-control parties where the music is so loud your ears will burst, no flashing lights or drunk people.
There are drinks here, but it takes a lot to get a werewolf drunk.
Then I sense him. The high sense of authority. The other Alpha.
He walks in, he's dressed nicely in a black suit, he's around 6.4 in height. His eye color is grey.
Tasha and I were the first to greet him. We bow our heads in respect.
He gives us a nod of acknowledgment and scans the crowd till he spots our Alpha, who is currently making his way over to us.
We bow our heads in respect to him as well.
" Alpha Conan, welcome," says our pack's Alpha.
" Alpha George, thanks for having us." Says Alpha Conan.
" I hope the trip here wasn't too much trouble," says Alpha George.
" It was a rather pleasant trip. The scenery in your pack is rather nice to view," says Alpha Conan. For a scary looking Alpha, he can be nice at times.
" Well, it's a pleasure to have you and your pack join us for this party," says Alpha George.
They walk off to talk with their bête's right behind them as well as their third in command.
My dad looks at me and nods, letting me know Tasha and I are free to walk around and join the party. So that's what we did.
We walk over to a counter where the drinks are and get some coke. Tasha and I don't like any type of alcohol. So we stick to coke.
We went to a small area and started talking. " So what do you think of the party?" says Tasha.
I gave her a smile. " I like the party, it's cool and all. I just wish I didn't have to follow all these rules all the time," I say.
' I agree with you on that.' My wolf says in my head.
" I'm not much for rules either," says a voice behind us.
We turn and look. It's Alpha George's son Kurt. He'll be taking over as Alpha soon.
" Really?" says Tasha.
He smiles and nods. " My Dad has me following so many rules to get ready to be Alpha, but sometimes I just want to be left alone."
I find myself nodding along. " I don't mind rules that much. I mean, you need rules to run a pack perfectly, so as much as I don't like rules, I know sometimes it's really necessary. " But I still hate rules.
He nods. " Your right on that one."
He leans against the wall. " You both look very nice tonight."
" Thank you." We both say.
He just grins, then he looks over at his father. " I got to go." His dad must have mind-linked him.
He then heads over to his father and they start talking. We are good friends with him at school.
We've actually all been good friends since we were little, but as we get older, the jobs we must do separate us. I only saw him a few times at school and that's about it.
I then hear my father's voice in my head as his mind linked me. ' Amber, I need you and Tasha to walk around and make sure everyone is OK and that there are no fights or anything going on.'
' Yes Sir.' I mind linking back. I tell Tasha and we start walking around.
We ask people if they are having a good time and make sure no one is fighting. So far so good.
We'd just about done when a loud growl echoed through the pack house and all eyes fell on Alpha Conan.
" What is it Alpha Conan?" asks Alpha George.
" Prison break at my pack. I got to go." He then took off with his bête and the third in command was right behind him, and soon, all the ones that came with him had to leave back to their pack to help and protect their loved ones.
Alpha George then mind linked everyone. ' Everyone, get back to your houses and stay there till I know it's safe and that there are no people crossing our borderline.'
Everyone nodded and left to go back to their houses.
Everyone was quickly in their houses, but Tasha was with me at my house. No one but Tasha and I are home.
After a while, Alpha George's mind links us all again. ' Everyone lock your door and be alert. Some of Alpha Conan's prisoners from his pack jail have escaped and some have made it past our borders and are on our pack territory. We are hunting them down now. No one goes outside, and no one leaves your house for anything.'
Then the mind link was gone. I look at Tasha and at the same moment we run to every window and door and start to lock them.
Soon, we have every door locked and just as I'm locking and closing the blinds to the last window, I see three huge shadows of huge wolves at the edge of the woods, and the worst part is they are coming straight to my house.
I screamed for Tasha and closed the blinds. I then told her what I saw, and together we turned off every light in the house.
A couple seconds after we turned off the last light, there was a loud scratching noise on the door.
I know these wolves aren't part of our pack. If they were, they would be in their houses or helping Alpha George. They wouldn't be trying to break into the bête's house. My house.
I try calling out my father or John for help, because I know if they knew we were in trouble they'd rush over here, but I can't seem to mind linking them.
Just as I was about to tell Tasha, we needed to go upstairs and hide the window breaks because a wolf jumped on it. Tasha and I screamed and stumbled back fast, we stumbled and fell, glass was thrown everywhere. When we looked up, there were three huge solid black wolves with their lips brought back in a snarl, growling at us, and glowing red eyes stood before us. We screamed again in fear. I will try calling dad again. Still nothing.
I can tell just by the looks of these wolves, they're not escaped prisoners from Alpha Conan's pack. Their worse, much worse.
Their rogues.
