It was Friday morning. Chloe was sitting comfortably on her bedroom sofa, drinking tea. The room's lighting was radiant, with scents of freshly baked buns and cinnamon filling the air. She was going through her studies when her cell phone beeped.
"Could it be my sister?" she thought.
The company hadn't mailed her in two days, making her wonder if they wanted her. She got up to check who was calling. "Yes!" she screamed, jumping and dancing around the room. "I got the job! I got the job!" she sang, returning to the sofa to sit and read carefully.
As she prepared for her big day, Chloe sprang into action. She dashed into the bathroom, eager to start getting ready.
First, she turned on the shower, letting the warm water wash over her as she lathered up with soap and shampoo. She felt invigorated as she rinsed off, the water cascading down her skin.
Next, she wrapped herself in a fluffy towel and began to get dressed. She chose a crisp, white blouse and a pair of tailored black pants, wanting to make a professional impression. She paired her outfit with a pair of low heels and a simple yet elegant necklace.
As she styled her hair and applied a touch of makeup, Chloe felt her confidence grow. She took a final glance in the mirror, smoothing out any wrinkles and smiling at her reflection.
Feeling refreshed, revitalized, and ready to take on the day, Chloe headed out to her appointment with the manager, eager to sign the necessary documents and take the next step in her journey.
The sun was warm and radiant as she stepped out of the car, standing before JODAtech, looking at it in amazement. Her heart raced; she was super excited but braced herself for her big moment.
She walked into the large hall, where people were walking to their jobs, minding their business.
"Intern?" a voice asked behind her.
She turned to see a kind, happy face, looking casual but expensively dressed.
"No, I'm a fresh one," she replied, smiling. "I need to find the Managing Director's table."
"Oh, come with me," he said, chatting as they left.
"Be yourself, work well, and you won't feel like a newly accepted working-class girl," he chuckled, showing her the door to the MD's office.
Samantha, seeing them all friendly and laughing as they came, grew red.Thats my man, young woman the Secretary, snapped.
C’Mon Sam,Jaden responded. Go easy on her. And he hurriedly left
"New in and already flirting."
"No, no, he was just showing me..."
"Cut it, and shut up. I know your type; you won't even last a month here. I'll be watching you closely."
The door opened, and Mr. Paul and MD Michael stepped out.
"Oh, Ms. Chloe right?,
you're a fast one,and right on time. Come in."
She collected her cool, smiled as she passed Sam, and entered the office.
"Seat, please," Mr. Micheal said.
"This is our founder and CEO. He needed to see his analyst before leaving."
"Good day, sir," Chloe greeted.
He looked at her from head to toe, then away.
"You were called to sign these documents. Go through them vividly before signing. Then, get set to resume fully in two days.
That will be all."
"Thank you, sir." Chloe dropped the file on his desk.
"Welcome to JODAtech, Ms. Chloe. See you Monday."
When she got home, she jumped on her bed, curling up with the purple duvet.
She called her sister, "Hello, May May."
"Hi, cupcake," Madison responded, giggling. "How was it? Did you get it? Are you coming home? Should I make arrangements?"
Chloe laughed, "Can you keep still and let me share the honors? I got the job, and guess what? At JODAtech, ma'am!"
Madison exclaimed, "Wow! This is great news. I need a cake to celebrate another success, a milestone."
I will be coming home today,Madison. Will be leaving soon.
See you cuppy,Madison replies. Bye!
Madison was waiting at the door, hugging Chloe tightly, feeling like she had been gone for years.
I am not that kid anymore,MayMay. Chloe laughed trying to get loose from Madison’s grip.
“I am glad you are home sis,but happier you got the job.”
“I know me too,me too,’Chloe replied smiling.
“I have missed you so much, how's everything been?”
“It's been good but never easy. Just busy with work and some stuff. But I’m glad we have today together. What will you want?
I don't know. You do have something in mind, don't you?
Well, we could go to the park and walk around. Or we could just stay here and catch up. I feel like I haven't seen you in ages."
Yeah, that sounds great. Let's do both. We can go to the park and then come back and have dinner together."
"Sounds like a plan.” But we will do the park tomorrow Chloe,Madison says.”
They spent the evening together, enjoying dinner and each other's company.
As they prepared for bed, Madison said, "You rest well, Chloe."
Chloe slept off almost immediately and Madison dozed off much later, lost in thought.
The next day, they spent their last hours together at the park, surrounded by lively people.
Chloe said, "I will miss the park and greens here, the hiking trails, waterfalls, and parks. All of it, but you especially."
Madison reassured her, "Cheer up, cupcakes. You are my strong girl and brainiac. Go and shine. I will always be by your side. Always."
As the sun set, they walked home, preparing for Chloe's departure.
The next morning, as Chloe prepares to leave, they have a heartfelt goodbye, promising to stay in touch and make more time for each other soon. Madison takes Chloe to the train station, and they can share one last hug and kiss before Chloe heads back to her new life.
She was going to stay away from home, closer to her dream work, feeling fulfilled and wondering what would happen next.
