Why is it that whenever things seem to be falling into place, something comes along to disrupt the status quo? I had woken up this morning full of positivity yet nothing seems to have gone to plan. First, the delivery that I had scheduled didn’t turn up. Then one of the ovens broke so that Andreas could only finish half of the morning’s bread bakes by the time we opened which lead to a lot of grumbling from the regulars. The engineer could only come out in the afternoon so who knows if it will be fixed for tomorrow? And to top it off poor Alison called in sick with food poisoning after a night out with her friends at a new sushi place that just opened up. I imagine they won’t be returning anytime soon.
