The Debate
The MC called for silence and the band played a fanfare. Two girls, dressed in their school uniforms of black skirts and white shirts, came on-stage from the left to the sound of deafening applause and high-pitched ululations from their supporters. Seconds later two boys followed from the right, dressed in black jeans and green tee shirts with the name of their school emblazoned on the chest. The MC introduced the contestants: Akosua Annan and Lily Mends for the Cape Coast Girls’ School and Osman Said and Jackson Brew for Maamobi Boys’. They all shook hands. The MC explained the rules and called forward the team leaders, Akosua and Osman, to jointly choose one of six sealed envelopes.
