Before 8 o'clock, the sunrise was just starting in Lhasa city. In Tibet, April is still the off-season for tourism. Hence, there are not many tourists on the streets of the old city. Only some local residents wearing traditional Tibetan clothes have started their daily Buddhism practice - turning around along Barkhor Street or Linkor Road. Everyone looked relaxed in their faces, as they walked leisurely shaking the prayer barrels, plucking their beads, and chanting the mantras.
This is the last day of Xia Mohe's trip to Tibet, and she will head to the airport in the afternoon to get back home. Mohe always likes to stay in the ancient town every time traveling in such a place with a history of thousands of years. Although the living facilities in the ancient town are not as good as those in the new town, the advantage is that she can enjoy the local culture with thousands of years' history.
She has slept very little recently. Since she still has some time in the morning, she got up early today to wash up, tied her ponytail, had a simple breakfast at the homestay, took her camera and went out without a destination and wandered with the crowd of people in the street.
It's hard to tell that Xia Mohe is actually 33 years old. In China, she is regarded as a mature lady. But Mohe still behaves like a student who has just left school. It may be related to the fact that she became an independent outdoor photographer as soon as she graduated from college.
Far away from the intrigues experienced by ordinary social people, Mohe maintains her unique curiosity and "clean" temperament; especially her eyes, as bright as a deer, deep and divine, seemed to have an insight into everything around her all the time.
It is probably due to perennial outdoor work. Mohe looks darker than normal girls in South China, and her body is compact and fit. She is full of energy and seems to be able to carry a backpack and walk around at any time. If she doesn't have a clear, delicate and watery face with a special dense flavor of girls in South China, she can directly sneak into the local Tibetan girls and be a local without violation.
Mohe's mother had always been very dissatisfied with her dark skin. Now it is popular to have white and glorious skin in South China, so she has repeatedly asked Mohe to whiten herself. She was always worried that her daughter would not be able to get married with such dark skin. However, Mohe herself just doesn’t care any.
The golden sunlight in the morning warmly wrapped the people walking on the street, and Mohe couldn't help thinking of a familiar gentle smiling face, which once warmed her like the sun.
Ever since she came to Tibet, Mohe has always admired the local Tibetan people. To them, their adherence to faith seems to be the most important in the world. No matter if it’s windy or raining, nothing can affect their daily pilgrimage. As for herself, without the man who used to take care of her in every possible way, she seems to get lost these days. She no longer knows why she even exists, and she doesn't know what to do either.
Thinking of this, Mohe felt a chill in her heart. When she came, the south of China had entered the warm spring with a little gentle breeze and drizzle. Yet it was still cold on this snowy plateau. Mohe tightened her thick jacket. Although the sun was dazzling at the moment, it was not warm enough.
She couldn't help shaking her head and laughing at herself that she arranged this trip to Tibet so as to forget that person in her heart as soon as possible; yet she still thinks of him a lot. How can she think of it all over again and again? She doesn't like herself, who has been mourning the past all this time.
“Forget it. If you don't know what to do, just follow fate. “Mohe said to herself. Then, she silently walked behind several local people who were chanting the Sutra, allowing them to take her anywhere the scriptures.
