CHAPTER FOUR : THE SECRET

ALICIA POV

PRESENT

There was only one person who called me flair.I turned to see Brian and, without thinking twice, hugged him. “ You made it,I thought you were not going to come”. His familiar scent filled my nose, he still had that combination of woody chocolate and musk smell. I leaned into him, holding on tightly like this was a dream I didn't want to wake up from.

“I would never miss your wedding day flair, you should know that by now”. He said in his calm, soothing voice, I stepped back and kept a little distance between us, giving me the opportunity to see him upfront.

He looked so different from the Brian I used to know. He had always been muscular and broad since we were little, which made him a big catch to girls in high school, but now he grew more muscular, his suit looked so fitting on him. He grew a bit of stubble beard that aligned perfectly with his face, giving a rugged, good-looking vibe, and his blue eyes were still so intense, you could see them glowing in the dark. Overall, he looked good. These are things I shouldn't be noticing anymore. I cleared those thoughts away from my mind, he probably had tons of girlfriends waiting for him back home. I looked up at him and saw him staring at me in awe.

“ You look so beautiful, Flair, I mean you have always been beautiful, but you look gorgeous”.I smiled at the comment. Mostly because I knew he said that to make me feel good since it was my wedding day,I knew I looked like a mess right now, my hair that had once been in a loose upbun felt all over the place, and I am sure I must have smudges of make up on my face.

“Thanks, you do not look so bad yourself, and I am sorry to break it to you, but I am not longer a flair”.I raised up my right hand to show him the ring on my finger before gently whispering to him “ It is smith now” I said, giggling.

“You would always be will fair to me” he said in a serious tone that had me feeling bad.I was messing around with him when I said that but I had no idea it was something serious to him.

“You really took your time to make it here.” I said to Brian, trying to conjure up something new to talk about.

“I am sorry I couldn't make it earlier, my flight got delayed.” We both stared at each other in silence before he asked “ Are you happy, does he make you happy ?”I was about to answer when I was cut off by Hayden’s presence.

“There you are,I have been looking all over for you”, Hadyen came and stood behind me hugging me possessively.

“I needed a bit of air, so I went outside and guess who I saw. Brian,I almost couldn't recognize him because it has been so long, you remember Brian, right ?” I asked Hayden whose hold on me just grew tighter before removing one hand from my shoulder and stretching it to shake Brian, who complied, shaking his hands.

“ Of course, how can I forget him? He almost won the tournament. He was a fierce competitor. It is nice to see you again man.I heard you have been quite busy saving the world. You are a doctor, right ? I think I also heard something about you becoming the right-hand man of Alpha Grey from the Native pack or was that some rumor?”

“Yes,you are right,I work for Alpha Grey. They needed help and I volunteered and things just happened naturally from there. Meanwhile, congratulations, you found a real gem here”.

“Thanks man.I hope you don't mind if I steal her away, we both have to head inside for the toast”.

“Of course not, you are both the host, so it would be wrong to have a toast without the host.I really wish you both a wonderful union and I also have to find Karen before she chops off my head for thinking I did not make it” he said, and, proceeded to enter into the reception hall.

Hayden and I went up to our seats hand in hand. One of the groomsmen made a speech about Hayden and made a toast to us, everyone clapped and cheered before drinking their wine and got up to dance as the party groove set in, the pianist played with finness and the singers sang so sweetly Hayden and I slowly made our way into the middle of the hall, dancing so slowly and looking at each other like no one else mattered in the room.

He whispered “ I love you” lightly into my ears and swirled me around before dragging me close for a kiss. It was meant to be a light brush of lips, but it became heated when his tongue invaded my mouth,a low moan escaped from me tiptoed trying to meet his height to get a perfect balance of us together, but we were cut short by someone clearing his throat.

Hayden swore, then relunctantly pulled away and followed the guy who whispered something into his ear. His face changed into a frown, he came to meet me and whispered into my ears “ I need to sort something real quick,I should be back in ten minutes”.He gave me a quick kiss before hastily leaving with the guy.

It seemed something important was happening which I would ask him about when he came back.I waited for about thirty minutes, but he wasn't back. After about forty-five minutes, I decided it was time to f**k it and look for him.I went outside in the dark, the full moonlight glow Illuminating as a light for me to see my path, I kept calling his name but nothing. There was no response, everywhere was silent.

I was about to head back into the hall when I saw a bright light flickering from my dressing room from earlier.I slowly walked towards the room, not wanting to attract any attention, and creeped inside. What I saw had me open my mouth in shock.
