Chapter 5: The Cabin The next day I told Molly about the cabin and asked her if she wanted to come with us. She was elated and we began planning the trip together. The cabin was about 4 hours north in Elmwood and was right on a small lake in the woods. It was gorgeous there. My father bought it when I was young, and he would go there every year to hunt and have a Boy's Weekend with his buddies. After he had died a few years ago from cancer, I lived there for a few months and fixed it up. Everything was structurally and functionally working, but it screamed 'Man-cave, ' and I had to remedy that right away.
