It had been three days since I left Charlotte during the party. I could still remember the look on her face, it was mixed with confusion and anxiety. I knew it was cruel to leave her all alone in front of the wolf packs, but I was left with no choice but to abandon her to take care of Sylvia. The woman that I loved was sick and fragile, she needed me more than Charlotte did, or so that was what I believed in.
But even if I told myself repeatedly that Charlotte would be fine, I knew how unfair it was to her. To show her face and introduce herself to the pack without my company, she must have felt betrayed because of what I did.
