After surgery, Stone had been moved into a room. Jana was standing beside him when Uncle Bill walked in.
“John?” Bill said, “how are you feeling?”
“Like somebody punched me in the gut and then ran over me with a freight train. But on the bright side, the drugs are pretty good.”
“Glad to hear it. I assume Jana’s filled you in?”
“I was so sure it was Moshe.”
Bill nodded.
Stone said, “And Jana said they caught the assassin?”
“They did,” Bill replied, “but, it’s complicated.”
Stone almost rolled his eyes. “It’s always complicated.”
“His official Mossad codename is Raven, but he’s better known in international circles as the Needle.”
