The bullet tore into flesh and blood, and tiny shards of bone peppered the room. The Raven spun and fell to his knees. The g*n had fallen out of his hand and Stone snatched it.
Stone saw Jana standing in the doorway. A tiny wisp of smoke eased from the barrel of the g*n in her hand. She tucked the g*n into its holster and tackled the Raven to the ground. She yanked a hand behind the man’s back and snapped a set of handcuffs onto them as a uniformed soldier ran in to assist.
With the assassin subdued and bleeding, she turned to Stone. “Jesus, Johnny. You don’t give a girl much time, do you?” She pulled his shirt up to inspect the knife wound in his side. She yelled to the group of uniformed soldiers in the hall behind her. “We need a medic up here, now!”
