36 Morning light pierced through the window blind in Stone’s apartment as though it were made of translucent plastic. Talia squinted. She got out of bed and stretched. It had taken her quite a while to fall back to sleep after Stone had awoken her with his screaming nightmare. She reached into her backpack and pulled out a change of clothes, a pair of snug-fitting jeans and top, then tiptoed out the door. She glanced at the couch. Stone was asleep with the blanket covering him from the waist down. She couldn’t help but glance at the musculature of his n***d chest. She went into the restroom and showered.
