I didn’t want to go into the Shadow Way. Granted, I had had only one really negative experience in there, but it had been enough—more than enough, really—to turn me off from it forever. That’s why I tried to avoid traveling along it whenever possible, because I didn’t want to do a repeat of my first experience in there.
