Chapter 3

Two weeks later...

     My new mom and my dad are going for their honeymoon during spring break. My new mom is okay but then... she likes punishing A LOT. She's grounded me three times for being rude. Ray and I are rocking our 'sibling-ship' (That's probably not a word anyway). We hang out a lot and his are my friends too now but mine won't mingle so I have to stay with them in school and at home with Ray's friends. My dad and Ray are good too. They spend time together to build a 'bond'. They went to a soccer match a few days ago. Ray and I are hanging out at our tree house with out friends including Michelle and Michael. Surprisingly, they came! Well... Michelle is a party animal and I'm sure she must have made Michael come. I'm glad they're here anyway. I looked over at Michael and he looks forlorn and it's probably cuz of me. He's been really distant lately and it's hurting me I got out of the tree-house and took a walk to the pond. I sat down by the bank, probably dirtying my shorts but I didn't really care. I made ripples in the water and I thought about my situation with Michael. Two of us would be perfect for each other but my heart would be somewhere else and or friendship would be jeopardized if anything when wrong. I missed my mom. She used to always tease me that Michael and I would fall in love and that she'll bless our union and all that. But now he confessed his feelings for me, and she wasn't there, really hurts. While I was still deep in thought, I heard a twig snap behind me. I looked back and I saw... 

a really cute bunny scamper away. I wasn't really sure why it scampered but  I was scared of whatever was chasing it. Suddenly more twigs snapped and I became really worried then suddenly, a boy popped out of nowhere! He was tall and had a slightly muscular athlete build-up with forest green eyes and brown wavy hair. It seemed like he was running for a while now cus he was panting. Then he asked "Which way did Trevor go?" "Trevor? Who's that?" I asked. "My bunny. " He replied. " Oh, he went that way." I said while pointing to my left. "Thank you. Bye!" The nice looking guy said. "You're... " I started to say but he left before I could finish my sentence. "Oh well" I said to myself as I shrugged. 

     I sat down by the bank again and continued to think about my mom. After a while I wrote 'I Love You Mom' in the mud. I probably looked like a mess right now cus my hair had been flailing around in the wind and my sneakers and hands were muddy. I tried rinsing off my hands with the water from the pond but it wasn't entirely clean. I called Ray to tell him that I was heading home to take a shower and that I'll be back soon. He hummed me an 'OK'.

     As I stood up 'Prince Charming' came back with Trevor. (And yeah, I called him 'Prince Charming' cus he reminded me of Charming in Cinderella so... yeah, that's his nickname now.)

     "Hey", he said "Sorry about earlier."

"It's ok" I said moving my knees back and forth nervously. "How'd he escape anyway?"

"Please don't judge. Well, he wanted to feel nature and I guess he went crazy with freedom, since it's been a while since he's been out. I'm Dylan by the way, you are...?"

I'm Camilla but my friends call me Cam. By the way, who am I to judge?"

"Pleased to meet you and thanks for not judging"

"Same here" I said looking at Trevor with dreamy eyes. 

"Do you want to touch him?" He asked with a warm smile

"Can I?" I asked eagerly

"Sure, he won't bite I can assure you." He said with a chuckle. I reached out slowly as I walked closer to him. As my hands went through he's snowy fur coat, I moaned. I closed my eyes thinking of sleeping on feathers as soft as Trevor's.

"He'd make a lovely pillow—" My eyes widened, that was rude I thought. "That wasn't what I meant... I'd never try to kill him!" 

"It's ok" said interrupting my apology, "you won't be the first".

"I'll be on my way, bye, see you around" I said walking away. Dylan walked closely behind me and I was beginning to feel uncomfortable. His he gonna kidnap me?! I thought wildly. A stalker perhaps? 

" Do you live around here?" he said as we walked down the street of my house.

"Yeah, you?" I questioned 

"Same, I live at number 23, you?"

"Number 14" I replied " You must be the new neighbor then we should hang out sometime"

"I'm free tomorrow afternoon" 

"How about three?"

"Done!" He said smiling like he just won a lottery. 

     I walked towards my door smiled and bade him goodbye. I was looking forward to tomorrow. 

Hey y'all. Been a while eh? Sorry. School resumed about six weeks ago and the entire team has been busy. We are in our final class and cuz of the pandemic things had to be rushed. Our exam starts on the 30th of November. We hope we'd be able to update again before then. Sorry about the filler chapter. We hope to do better next time. The chapter's isn't edited. We'll edit after exams, we promise.
