“Grandma Cara! I’m going now.”
Anastacia finished all her chores and helped the old woman in her little garden before setting out. She had no sleep, but it was not even evident on her face. The excitement and irritation that she had the whole night kept her going without a shed of sweat.
Jamie and his ghosting had been in her mind since she realized that they wouldn’t be meeting that night.
She can’t understand why and how he did that. Anastacia thought that their relationship, even though not formal, was the strongest bond that she had in the village.
