Chapter 4

1431 Words
Nina was shocked when she heard the alpha propose to her in front of everyone. She looks and finds everyone still in shock and freezing. She didn't know what to say at that moment because of the embarrassment. Vance notices it and clears the air for her. “You don't need to answer now, but please don't make me wait for too long.” His husky voice was sharp in the ears of those that were there, and he turned to everyone, giving his sharp gaze especially to his brother and then spoke. “You're right Drew, you're indeed in love with Chase and this is why I'll give you my blessings, brother. You're free to marry Chase, both of you look good together.” His smiles were mixed with anger and mockery as he leaves with Nina holding her. “B – but.” Drew was still in great shock after witnessing what happened between him and his ex-mate. *** After Vance had sent Nina back to her quarters, Drew followed as he got back, trying to convince him not to marry Nina. “Vance, Nina is not the right girl for any of us. There are plenty of other beautiful girls out there who are willing to marry you without stress. Let's not bring a stranger into our home.” Vance stopped and turned to him and replied. “And what do you mean by Nina is a stranger,” “You should know, brother. She's not a member of this pack, meaning she's just an outsider taking shields and working for our family.” “And what will you say about Chase?” He cuts him off with a question. “I told you, brother. Chase is different, she's my type and possesses everything I need in a woman.” “Like she gives you great s*x, right?” He threw him off further. “If that is so, then you need to grow up. You can't even differentiate between a good fruit from a bad one. Do you?” Drew became frustrated but didn't want to give up on making his brother marry his ex-mate. “I know you might not like Chase so much, but you're wrong on that one. Chase has always been a good girl and a good friend to Nina. Even right now, she still feels guilty of what she did to Nina and I see it. It is Nina who is selfish and inconsiderate, and I wouldn't want my brother to make the mistake of marrying her.” “Again, she's been denied a wolf. How can you let a wolfless girl be your Luna, brother? Think about it, what would people say or think about you if news began to travel. It won't be a good image for you as our Alpha.” Drew was hoping that his brother would change his mind, but it all went on deaf ears. Vance was already getting fed up with his brother's petty talk, but Drew was not ready to give up. “And lastly, you cannot marry the same girl your twin has had s*x with before. Trust me, she's not sweet down there. I know that there are more beautiful girls that would give you any style of s*x you need, but not her. She's worthless.” Vance gave him a stern glance which made him tremble to his feet as he was about to trip because of his brother's stern face. He was greatly scared of him and immediately shut up, but in a minute, Vance's face lit up once more. “Hmm, thanks for the advice. I appreciate it, brother. I really do, but it's my choice to make. And don't forget it's still me, Alpha Vance, and no one escapes my rot if they go against me. Worry about yourself more, brother, and I hope you know what you're doing.” He taps him on his shoulder and leaves. “I'm saying this for your sake, Vance, I don't want you regretting this later.” “I won't,” Vance said as he continued walking away. “Arghhh!!’ Drew grunts in frustration at his brother's stubbornness, and he begins to blow his fist in the air. He knows that when his brother says a thing, he keeps to it and him proposing to Nina means he will marry her at all costs. The only thing to make this not work was to meet Nina and threaten her not to marry his brother. He wouldn't stand watching his twin brother get married to his ex-mate. Nina was still star struck after hearing the alpha's proposal to her. She was blushing red, reminiscing about his deep voice, and she held her cheek to stop herself from blushing. A part of her was excited while the other part was scared. Vance was known to be a ruthless and merciless leader and that scared her greatly. Also, she was worried about what people would say and how they would perceive her from henceforth, since words had started to travel everywhere. She became so confused. She thought of Drew and how he'd perceived her. She still loves him and a part of her badly wants to say No to his twin brother's proposal. But at the same time, she doesn't want to be in Vance's bad books if she says No. Everything was moving too fast. Yesterday, she was dumped by her first love, Drew Jackson, and today his twin asked her to be his Luna, without a wolf. She became so dizzy with the thoughts of everything that was happening and decided to take a nap, but then she heard her name so loudly outside and recognized the voice. She decided to go and find out why Drew was calling out her name like that. “Nina Jones, I command you to show yourself to me this minute.” Drew continued in a not-so authoritative tone, attracting the other members of the pack. Nina comes out and goes towards Drew with Chase by his side as usual. “I want you to say No to my brother's proposal when you meet him again.” Nina laughed lightly at his words and responded to him. “And if I said No, what would you do?” This threw Drew off as he was surprised at the response Nina gave to him. Nina had never talked back to him when he told her to do something, but he sensed a slight change in her after her visit to her brother. “You're not even ashamed that after I broke off our mate bond, you'd go ahead and seduce my brother to marry you.” Nina was shocked at what Drew was spitting out from his mouth and realized how stupid she had been crushing and loving him all the years. She calms herself down and decides to play along with him. “And you're right and believe me when I said I enjoyed everything about him. I used to wonder if I was the cause of our boring s*x when you always complain, but you're wrong because your brother proved to me that I'm sweet in bed.” Everyone gasps at Nina's revelation and begins to murmur among themselves. Nina knew that this was what most people would believe and started their gossip again. She also enjoyed the agony Drew was going through, as it was quite evident in his face. With frustration, Drew grabs Nina by her hand and begins to shout. Chase tries to convince her too, seeing their situation at hand. “Nina, I know we've had a rocky relationship lately, and I'm sorry for causing you pain, but you shouldn't use Vance to get your revenge on us. It would only cause you more pain. Please, let's discuss this as best friends.” “If you think I'll sit back and watch you marry my twin brother, then you must be joking. I won't allow it because you're not fit to be part of us, you lowly whore.” Nina was hurt at Drew's words and became really scared as he gripped her by her arms. She tried to pull out, but it seemed impossible and she cried out. “Let me go Drew, you're hurting me.” Nina cried out. “You just have to say No to my brother's proposal, and I'll let you go.” He furiously said. “Drew! Let her go!” Everyone trembled at the voice that spoke from afar but could still be heard.
