RYDER Stepping into the restaurant, I immediately spotted Logan and Kane seated at a table near the far end of the room. Sitting with them was an elderly woman. Mrs. Scott. Before heading over, I paused just inside the entrance. Old habits die hard. My gaze swept across the restaurant, carefully taking in every corner. I checked the exits, the people seated nearby, and anyone who looked remotely suspicious. Years in the club had taught me that danger rarely announced itself before showing up. Everything appeared normal. Satisfied, I finally made my way toward their table. Kane noticed me first. Both he and Logan immediately rose to their feet. Mrs. Scott remained seated, though she turned slightly in her chair to look at me. "Are you the one we've been waiting for?" she asked.
