That question was so random and, at the same time, too suspicious.
“I don’t know much about the case.” I watched her closely for any reaction. “Why do you ask?”
She shrugged. “She randomly crossed my mind while I was still back home, so I decided to ask you about it when I got back.”
It was either she was telling the truth or she had gotten better at lying.
For a brief second, I searched her face for something, anything that would tell me what was really going on inside that head of hers, but she gave me nothing.
