SLOANE I threw off the covers and practically jumped out of bed, my bare feet hitting the cold hardwood floor. I was still wearing Damon's shirt, and it rode up as I rushed toward the door, but I didn't care. All I cared about was finding Cade. I yanked open the bedroom door and nearly ran straight into the hallway wall in my panic. My breathing was coming too fast, my chest tight with fear. "Cade!" I called out, my voice shaky. "Cade, baby, where are you?" I hurried down the hallway, checking each room I passed. I rounded the corner to the living room and stopped dead in my tracks.
