AMY I blinked, my heart still pounding from Pete’s words, but the tap on my shoulder snapped me back to reality. I turned around slowly, trying to shake off the heat still lingering in my body. Mandy stood there, arms crossed, her brows furrowed. Jason was a few steps behind her, sipping his drink, watching me like he already knew I was up to something. I forced a smile, acting like I hadn’t just been completely wrecked by Pete’s presence. “Hey,” I said, too casually. Mandy raised an eyebrow. “Hey?” she repeated. “That’s all you have to say?” Jason sighed, shaking his head. “We saw him leave, Amy. You really gonna act like that was nothing?” I rolled my eyes. “It was nothing. He just had something to say.” Mandy didn’t look convinced. She glanced toward the direction Pete had walked
