What does that mean?
I knew it when I heard a threat, and this right here wasn't just a threat, it was more than that. It felt like I was being followed, like I was being monitored, and I couldn't do anything about it.
“You think money is all I care about?” he asked. “No, there's more to this than money.”
Now, he was scaring me.
I have seen things like this in movies, and they always wanted money, but here he was saying that he was doing this for another reason that I didn't seem to know about.
“You should have thought hard and clearly before you slept with my Hayley.”
“The pregnancy…” I began, but my voice trailed off.
So this wasn't just about the pregnancy or even Hayley. If this wasn't about money, then what was it about?
