The silence that followed Mandy's announcement was loud. I could literally hear a pin fall to the ground. I slumped back into the oversized sofa, staring at her in disbelief, wondering what James had done to her brain.
“Come on, Mandy, you can't do this. You can't end our long-term friendship just because of your boyfriend.” I scoffed, sitting up again to look at her.
