THE CURSE

Chapter 2

《Aiden Hale》

"So you do still have your power, huh?" He said while wiping the blood on his lips with the handkerchief. "I thought it was completely gone."

"H-help..." Mia 's weak voice interrupted our conversation which caught that vampire's attention right away.

"Don't you dare touch her!" I said through my teeth. To be honest, I was slowly changing to werewolf; my nails, ears, and even my vision were different then my human form.

He laughed maniacally, "What's up with you and that girl, Aiden?" He was already standing near to that girl, just a few feet from me then examining her with his dark black pearl eyes.

*growls*

"I said don't touch her!" I shouted to the vampire and pushed him with my super strength power that caused him thrown against the wall.

Shawn laughed maniacally while getting away from the cracked wall.

"So I see you already imprinted with her," Shawn tapped his shoulder to remove the dirt out of his black jacket. "Are you going to let her die just like her, huh, Aiden?"

"Just shut up," I clenched my fist even though my long sharp nails emerged both of my palms. It was the only way for me to remain calm by triggering the pain or I might be lose control and start to attack people surround me.

The filthy vampire smirked, "You still have no control of your anger after all this years. So pity..." With the blink of eyes he already crouched beside the midnight blue hair girl and seemed like he will bite her any time. "What will you do if my bite spread the venom inside of her body....*caresses cheek*...then she turned to be just like me."

"No, I won't let you..." I answered in instant. "Get away your filthy hand of her!" I swatted Shawn's hand from touching the unconscious Mia . "I will do anything even die for her in order to protect her."

"A great improvement, I see..." he stood back on his feet. "Fine...I won't touch her since she looks like someone we knew back then. Oh...that's why you wanted to protect her so badly, huh dope?"

I took a glance to the unconscious girl then turned back to Shawn; fully changed to my human form.

"Later dude," Shawn who was already at the top of the roof shouted to me. "Clean the mess for me, dope..."

Ugh...more works for me. Thanks, bloodsucker!

I gently put Mia on my back then swiftly heading back to my house before it's getting dark.

Oh and for the two corpses, I already told my trusted assistant to get rid of it before anyone see them.

"Aiden," Mike, my little brother approached me as I arrived at my doorstep with Mia on my back. He looked so confused with me who never brought any girl before until today. "W-who is this?" And even started to stutter too. "Don't misunderstood of anything, Mike."

He already looked at me with his eyebrow raised a little while crossing both of his arms. "Big bro, she is...around my age! How couldn't I misunderstood of it!"

I poked his forehead then pushed him away from my way. "Just shut your mouth and let me treat her first."

"But Big bro," And of course he would not obey me. He is Mike for sure, the stubborn boy ever. "Who is she? Where did you find her?...."

The loudmouth Mike as usual, talked non stop until I finished treating Mia 's wounds when I found him was sleeping while talking gibberish on the couch in the guest room.

I shook my head for several times along with a small smile curved on m lips while looking at my silly brother. Then turned back my gaze to the sleeping Mia .

Mia was badly injured. How come she just let the girls tortured her like that. Man...I should have come earlier before she got hurt.

*sighs*

I'm sorry Mia ....I promise this will never happen again.

I pulled up the blanket for her so she will be warm enough. Her pulse was weak when I examined her right hand. Plus, she looked very thin and seemed lack of vitamins and nutrients. Luckily I kept a stock of IV in my house so I could use it for her.

I thought she will live peacefully there, but I was wrong. Her life was so miserable and hopeless.

"B-BIG B-br!" Mike's voice almost wake her up when he suddenly shouted out of blue. And with my quick reflect, a pillow landed straight on Mike's face that made him fall off from the couch.

"Get up and sleep on your own room, now!" I instructed her while pointing my index finger towards the door.

The sleepy-head Mike nodded instantly while hugging the pillow and slowly walked towards his room.

"Goodnight, Mia," I dimmed the table lamp on the room and swiftly went out from the room so she could get rest peacefully.

《Mia Thompson》

Hmm....this bed is so cozy and warm. And the room smell so nice, just like the lavender scent I love so much.

Wait...where am I?

Did I....

I quickly opened my eyes then looked around the unfamiliar room with my blurry vision. I sat back on the queen size bed then wiped my eyes to get a proper look with the well decorated room.

Woah....it's really beautiful.

I scooted away from the bed after carefully removed the IV from my right hand then wandered around the beautiful bedroom to take a closer look. There were so many of books; I mean old books on the shelf at the corner of the room.

That's weird.

Wait a minute, where is this door head to?

I slid the door right on front of me without thinking of anything and amazed with the beautiful walk-in-closet.

The bathroom was attached with the room too, and it was so modern and beautiful. I never seen such a design before and the clothes....it were all men's. The suits, jackets, pants, sleeves and even the accessories were all men's.

The owner must be totally rich, since all of his clothes were branded and have a special mark which is written as AH.

What is AH?

"There you are," a brown hair guy approached me from behind. "I thought you are still sleeping." He added along with a warm smile.

Is he the owner of this house?

Is he AH?

But he looks so young, it's totally impossible.

"Ummm...heyy, hello...." he waved his hands to catch my attention. "Are you okay?"

I shook my head once, "Yeah, I'm okay...sorry about that." I slowly walked away from the walk-in-closet so the brown hair guy will not think badly of me.

"Here," he raised both of my hands then put a pair of clothes with a brand new tooth brush on it. "My brother asked me to give this to you."

"Your brother?" I looked at him in confused.

He nodded while his hands were both on his pants pockets. "He said that you can used this room for awhile and well, that's all I think. Come down for breakfast when you're done. Later...."

The brown hair guy left the room without I could even say anything. Seriously I was so confused with his brother.

Do I know him? This is so weird. As far as I remember I never made any friends with anyone...even at the orphanage.

It almost 9 am now, I should go clean up now.

I just followed my feet where they took me. This house is surely big and unique and its decoration is really beautiful and modern too.

The modern glass spiral staircase was just right in front of me and my steps stopped as I was amazed with the view of blue ocean sea from the big glass wall beside of the staircase.

"Woahh this is so beautiful..." I was so impressed with the beautiful scenery as I took a look at glass wall near to staircase.

There was a silver convertible granturismo outside which parked beside of the fountain right in front of the house. It still looked brand new car with a special plate on it, KS 1.

"Umm...hello," I was jumping a bit as a brown hair guy suddenly tapped my shoulder from behind. "Oh sorry about that," he quickly apologized.

I massaged my chest a bit so I could calm down a bit since my heart was racing so fast which caused by his sudden approached.

"Oh no!" He cupped his own face. "Did I scare you that much?? Did I hurt your or something...or do you have a weak heart or something. Oh mann.....I'm dead....sooo sooo dead!" This time he was the one who became panic all of sudden. He then wandered around me while pulling his brown hair and babbling nonsense about his mysterious brother.

"U-umm...I'm fine, sir..." I tried to calm him down but it was so awkward though since I really have no idea what to call him.

He seemed younger than me ...ughh, this is so confusing.

The brown hair guy bursted out of laughter all of sudden. But he stopped right away as noticed I was looking at him confusedly. "...*clears throat*...Oh sorry, about the unexpected panic reaction, and umm that lau...*small laughs*...l-laughter. It's really funny when you call me 'sir'. I don't know how to describe it but it really does sound funny."

Is this guy being serious? Why is he so weird?

He continued, "Never mind about that, well, miss....wait, what is your name again?" He finally asked for my name.

By the way, from his personality, I could concluded that he is really a spoil rich guy.

"My name is Mia Thompson," I said my name out loud. He then smiled as soon as heard me and seemed like he nodded a bit along with a smirk.

"So that was the reason, I get it now," he talked by himself as if like he just figured out of something. "Anyway, let's get to downstairs to have some breakfast." He climbed down the glass spiral staircases which was just beside him. "Oh, my brother send me his regard to you. He said he couldn't meet you this morning since he has an urgent meeting. Oh..one more thing, I'm at your service. My brother said that I have to do everything that you asked for. Anything....just let me know, Mia ."

Anything? What does he means by that?

His brother is indeed mysterious. This really make me eagerly to meet him since I really felt thankful for his helps.

Stanford University School of Medicine...

As promised, the brown hair guy named Mike drove me to the Stanford University School of Medicine since I have to attend another exam there. A final exam where it will determine who will get the sponsor from the university for the whole studies.

I really hope that I will get it. The expense for the doctor studies is surely expensive. And this is the only way for me to fulfill my ambition.

The silver convertible granturismo halted right in front in main entrance of the hospital. "We are now arrived at your destination, Mia ." Mike jokely announced to me along with his small smile. "I'll be here in two hours. So meet me here, okay, Mia ?"

It was so uncomfortable when he treated me like this. It felt like I was not deserve with all of this at all.

"Are you alright, Mia ?" He snapped me out from my thought.

"O-oh, yes, I'm alright...sorry about that," I quickly slung my backpack on my right shoulder then scooted away from the co-driver seat. "Thank you for giving me a lift, Mike."

He smiled sheepishly, "Well, you're welcome. I'll see you in 2 hours, okay?"

I nodded, "Yes, sure..."

The car's engine revved loudly as soon as I closed the car's door then moved away from the main entrance of the hospital.

I took a deep breath while looking at the huge entrance in front of me. "Good luck, Mia ..." then started to head to the hall where the exam venue was.

"Excuse me..." a husky voice stopped my paces from behind. "You dropped this...."a good looking blond hair guy handed me my white transparent file which seemed like it was falling on the ground without me noticing about it.

His eyes were beautiful; ocean blue color I think which I never met such as eyes before. He was wearing a pale blue shirt with solid blue neck tie along with a black pants.

"T-thanks..." I was stuttering as looked into his eyes while grabbing the file from his hand.

"You're welcome," He made me breathless more as he gave me his charming smile and the way he talked, totally made my heart melted so much. "Goodluck with your exam by the way," he said as he was about to walk away from me.

"T-th-thanks..."those word did not properly came out from my mouth since I stuttered so badly.

But,

H-how did he know about that?

I was so curious about it and tried to ask him about that before he leave, but it was too late as he already farther away from me and his figure was now no longer to be seen as he took a right turn of the building.
