Chapter 28

2568 Words

In the morning, on April 21, the threesome continued their trip to Sousse. When they approached the coastline of Tunisia, it started to rain. Mandolini was piloting. He went below to avoid the rain. The Mediterranean was rough, and he reduced the speed to 30 knots. The Seadog performed splendidly. The steel hull of the heavy cruiser cut effortlessly through the waves. Two pleasure cruisers, originating in Tunis, crossed their path. One headed to Tripoli and the other to Genoa. As the threesome rounded Cape Bon, the weather turned nice again as quickly as it turned to rain earlier. That was typical morose Mediterranean weather. Mandolini pushed the speed levers forward, and the speed indicator on the Seadog showed 43 knots. He read a new heading on his chart and set the Seadog to autopilot.
