When my parents got to the hospital the next day, they had three important things to tell me. The first was that they’d heard from Ryan’s parents that Dugan had gone straight from the hospital yesterday to interview Ryan—and that his account corroborated nearly everything I’d said. The second was that a good number of Avanic employees were cooperating with law enforcement in exchange for immunity deals. The third was that the story had broken on the front page of all US newspapers, as well as a good number of international ones.
