Chapter 8 My mom let me sleep until noon; it was Saturday, after all. But no later—she’d invited my grandma over and she’d get here in a few hours and I couldn’t sleep the whole day away and could I please run to the store and grab some milk and zucchini? “And how will you possibly manage when I go away to college?” I asked, yawning as I slipped on my boots. “Community college is always an option!” “Yeah, sure,” I said with a smile and a roll of my eyes.
