The warm spring breeze was carrying a sweet floral scent in through Claire's open windows. She took a deep breath, enjoying the smell of her freshly bloomed rose bushes, as she arranged some pretty red and yellow tulips in a vase on the kitchen counter. A sharp knock at the front door interrupted her. Claire frowned, not expecting anyone on this quiet Saturday morning. Maybe it was those Girl Scout kids going door-to-door selling cookies again.
