Ignis tugs Warren’s wrist. “C’mon,” he mutters. “We got work to do.” But Warren’s damned if he’s going back to the glasshouses now. He snatches his hand away, bolts for Maxen and the foreign captain. Bumblebees draw frantic orbits around his head. Ignis’ cry of frustration carries to him on the still air, but he ignores it. He skids to a halt beside Maxen, who looks down in surprise. Vulkan’s lip curls in disdain. He glares towards where his son is running to catch up. “Sorry, sir,” Ignis puffs as he draws close. “I’ll take him back now. We still got the glasshouses to do.” He casts a nervous glance towards his father. Though no words are exchanged, Warren sees Ignis flinch under Vulkan’s gaze. He frowns, jerking his arm away when Ignis tries to grab it. Ignis stares at him dangerous
