"Come in.."
It was Donna's voice. What was she doing here so early...and Why was she in his office, didn't he inform her that this meeting was going to be an intimate one...
I pushed the door open only to find Donna standing at the opposite of the mahogany desk with a smug grin on her face. There was absolutely no trace of My soon to be ex husband, Was he late?
My chain of thoughts was broken my Jonathan clearing his throat. He had an unreadable expression on his face, he gestured me to sit next to him. Mrs. Faith , my husband's lawyer was already occupying a seat on Jonathan's right.
I sat down and slightly raised my eyebrows at my lawyer, he sympathetically put his hand on my shoulder and said, "Mr. Knight is busy today, he won't be able to make it. His secretary, Miss Donna just informed us that he is stuck up with something and he has already signed the papers last night and has granted you the full custody of Ares with 45 percent of his company shares and the villa located in New York along with monthly alimony for Ares' upbringing."
A pang of pain went through my chest; He did not attend, it was like, I didn't matter to him whatsoever, this marriage meant nothing to him, He did not even care about his own son.
I cleared the lump in my throat and asked, "And why is Miss Donna here during the divorce proceedings?"
"oh , I think you weren't informed Hera Adams, I am going to Mrs. Xeus Knight's wife very soon, Last night, he proposed me into marriage and I gladly accepted. We have been seeing each other for a while now." She stated with a mischievous smirk painted on her face.
I felt as if My whole world was crumbling down to pieces. Not only did he cheat on me with Maya but he also did it with his P.A. , I was just so naive and stupid to not notice all those secret glances and smiles they would pass onto each other during parties. It wasn't even a day since I told him that I wanted a divorce and he already had found my replacement.
"What about Maya?" I asked with a stone cold look on my face.
"Maya was just a good f**k, Hera. He always had his eyes on me,he was so exhausted of you and that bastard son of yours..." I didn't let her finish that sentence for I stood up from the chair making it fall on the ground with a loud bang.
"How dare you? Never ever call my Son that! You are nothing but a vile and greedy woman who is always too busy with her own vanity. A man who wasn't faithful to the one he took his vows with, will never be faithful to a woman whom he used to get out of a relationship with either. Keep that in mind!" I said with a murderous glint in my eyes.
I snatched away the pen from Jonathan's hand and quickly signed the papers.
I turned towards Mrs. Faith and shook her hands thanking her for devoting her time and also apologized for the little outburst.
I turned towards Jonathan and gave him a quick hug, and got hold of the pram and pushed it towards the door not before turning back towards Donna who was staring at me intently, "Miss Donna , I hope you have fun with my leftovers. " I said with a sickeningly sweet smile and walked towards the elevator.
On my way down, I could practically feel my heart breaking and tearing itself into pieces, I did not deserve this...I did not deserve any of this....But now, I had a chance to start anew, away from this madness and hell of a town. I knew I was going to live a new life, Away from My man w***e of a husband, away from my pathetic excuse of parents and away from m husband's mistresses.
And when I come back, I won't be the same innocent and fragile Hera Adams anymore, I will be the Hera Adams who'll be back for her revenge.
And with that secret oath to myself in my mind , I got into my car and sped off with My son.
Just you wait, Mr. Xeus Alexander Knight, Hera Adams will be back as your worst nightmare...
