Before fighting, Arthur came and said, "Mira, I advice you look for his weakness. You will have a much better chance of winning that way."
She stared at Arthur and said to Lois, "That's his tip? If he just told me his weakness, I would win more easily."
"Don't be hard on him. He always say something for a reason."
"Sure, now I need to beat him. Easier said than done."
"Don't worry. I am sure you won't die."
She stared at her, "That's your reassurance? You need to work on pep talks."
"Don't judge me. He's experience and you have zero to no experience. But I am sure you won't die."
She shake her head in disbelief, "I am sure I won't die too. I hope."
"You better not. Now go and lose."
She walked towards the middle, "So no weapon?"
"No weapon. You can use a weapon because you are inexperience."
"I won't use a weapon. They only slow me down. What about magic? Is it allowed?"
"No magic with me please. Won't be fair."
"Well, you can turn into a wolf. I can't."
"Well, you can use anything other than magic."
"Fine. I will win without magic then." Honestly, she didn't know how to beat him. She can't do much magic either.
Merlin said, "Before you two start fighting, who wants to bet?"
Mira thought Lois would betted on her winning but she betted on her losing. "Sorry, darling. I need money."
Everyone betted on her losing which sucks. Now, she has to win. She wouldn't lose.
"Start the fight."
She and Kyle started to circle each other. She looked carefully at him, searching for any movement. She would have to tired him down. And since she had drunk blood just before going to the King, she was full of energy. Kyle strike with a kick but she dodged. But the kick didn't end there. He turned into a wolf and lunged at her again. She rolled sideway, barely dodging him. "You have better reflexes than I thought. Nice." He ran at her and when he was about to reach her, he jumped and turned into a wolf. With her enhanced eyes, she can see the process clearly. His body became buffer and bigger. Than his nails turned into claws. His entire body was filled with hairs. She also saw something. When turning, he winced. That would mean that he gets more tired or hurt the more he change. Maybe she can counterattack him when he change? She would have to be patient. The fight continued. Kyle kept attacking and she kept dodging. At last, she spot a mistake. He turned too late. When she spot that, she began to formulate a counterattack in her mind. She remember the move that the twins did. She moved her hand downward, making a fist. Then she brought it upwards with all her strength. It hit squarely in his jaw. He was thrown back, falling on his back.
She was afraid that she had gone too far. "Are you dead? Oh gods. Don't die. I am not ready to kill a living thing yet."
"Relax, I am not dead. Wow, you can hit really hard and you are quick. You will do really good in a battle."
He stood up, apparently fine. "You made me worry for no reason."
"I love doing that. Making people worry for no reason. You could say that I am a drama queen."
"What do you mean?"
"Oh yeah, you are not that old."
"That's rude. You don't know how old I am. Even I don't know how old I am."
"You don't?"
"Yeah."
Lois walked towards us, applauding, "That was very good, Mira."
"Don't you start congratulating me now, Lois. You betted against me. I haven't forgive you for that."
"Oh, what should I do for you to forgive me?"
"I might have a thing or two in mind."
"Hmm...I'll make it up to you later. After the war."
"Sure. And Arthur?"
"Yeah?"
"Can you teach me the sword moves?"
"There's nothing to it, really. It's just practice and patience. You just need to be patience for your opponent to mess up and make a mistake. Then you can take advantage of it. If you are fighting against a group, it's good to circulate between defense and attack. Like that, they can't predict what you are going to do next."
"Wow. That's actually good advice."
"I am already the best swordsman, it would be embarrassing if I can't give sword fighting advices."
"Wow, you have a really big ego."
"And you are interesting."
"How so?"
"You talk like those from the old worlds."
"The old worlds?"
"Humans don't know this but there are...other beings in...how would you call it? the sky?"
"The sky? Isn't it blue? If there are...other beings, we would be able to see them."
"The sky is vast, my dear. And it isn't always blue. If you don't believe me, ask the flying boy, Dragoon there."
"He's right. Most of it is dark. Darker than anything."
"How is it dark? Doesn't the sun light up everything?"
"No, if you want, I can explain these things to you more thoroughly later."
"Yeah, I need to sleep. The sun's up anyway."
"Come on, I'll show you to your room."
They walked through the camp which is starting to get more lively with people waiting up.
When they arrived at Mira's room, Lois said, "Mira, be careful. Don't trust anyone here, especially us."
"What?" But she was already gone.
