The Town of Valor

Mira asked Aurora as she put on her cloak, "What is this town called?" "It is called Town of Valor." She frowned, "Can you tell me more about the kingdom?" "I am afraid that I am not quite familiar with this subject but I can tell you a little bit." "Please do." They talked as they walked to the guard's house, "So, this kingdom is called, Honor. There are a total of five town in this kingdom. Town of Valor, which is this town, Town of Bravery, Courage, Glory and Hope. Town of Hope is the capital of the kingdom. And our kingdom is in war with Kingdom of Ayona for the past 10 years. Their land is so big that it circle our entire kingdom border. Aww, we are here." She knocked on the door, "Garrow, open up. She want to meet you." The door opened and there was a man on the other side. "What is it? Oh, you. I saved you yesterday, right?" "I think so, yes. I wanted to thank you." "No need to thank me. I help everyone that need help." "Nevertheless, thank you. I may take my leave now." They left the house. Mira was uncomfortable in there. She could smell his blood. A minute more in there and she would have lose control. "Sorry if I were a little rude. I have not talk with people other than you after I lost my memory." "It is ok." "Can you teach me how to heal? I want to help people like you do." "That is a good cause but it will take years to fully understand the art of medicine. Are you sure you want to study?" "Yes, I am sure. I don't care how long it takes. I want to help people." "Ok, I will teach you. Let's introduce you to the mayor. You can stay in my house as long as you want." "Thank you. Can you tell me more about the other kingdom? If you have been in war for 10 years, I am sure they would have already conquer this place." She sighed, "You are right. But our defenses are better than most kingdom. They have been blocking all our trading routes, slowly tipping away our economy. We barely have enough coin to hire the soldiers. Guards like Garrow help without pay." "I can see how that can be a problem." "Anyway, we are at the townhall." The townhall was bigger than any other building in the town. It was a four stories tall. A man was sitting on the chair inside the townhall. He stood up when he saw them. "Aww, Aurora. Who is this lovely woman?" "Her name is Mira. Mira, his name is Horst. I am just here to introduce her to you. Now, I'll take my leave." She left before he could say anything. Mira looked at him apologetically, "Sorry." And she ran after Aurora. "What was that? Why did you leave?" "Sorry, I can not stand him. He is annoying." "Oh, ok. Can we go now? I feel like I am about to fall asleep." "What? You just woke up." "Yeah, but I am really feeling like I am about to fall asleep." "Come on. Lets get you home." When they arrived home, "Do you have any book on medicine? I would like to read them when I wake up in the night." "Yes, I will put them all on the table. Now lets get you to bed." "Yea-" She didn't remember what happened after that. She woke up at night, in a bed beside Aurora. So, she put me in her bed and also slept next to me. Is she interested in me? Nah, she wouldn't be, right?  She got out of the bed quietly, not wanting to wake Aurora up. The hunger was too strong. She need to get out of the town or else she would drink blood from the citizens. She don't know what kind of of person she was before she died but she was not that kind of person now. She won't prey on innocent humans, even if they are not innocent, she won't betray their trust on the first day. She needed blood real quick. She went out the house and jumped. It was impossible. She jumped higher than Aurora's roof. She landed softly but clumsily on the roof. Luckily, her house was right next to the city wall. She jumped over the wall. Oh s**t. She overjumped and fall off the wall. She braced herself for impact. ...Nothing happened. She opened her eyes and found herself floating 1 feet above the ground. She had the same feeling she had when she was rising out of the coffin. Was she doing magic again? She didn't know. The thoughts can go. Right now, the only thing that mattered to her was getting blood. She could hear the heartbeats of humans from the other side of the wall. She needed to go farther into the forest to hear a tiger's heartbeat. She slowly stalked towards it. The tiger could smell her and stayed on it's guard. The hunger hit her again. She couldn't control her body anymore. She needed to drink blood. She let out a yell and jumped at the tiger. She was there in an instant and started sucking the blood. At first, the tiger tried to struggle but somehow it couldn't break free of her. When she got enough blood, she began to calm down and regained control over her body. As she couldn't let anything die, she pricked her finger and dropped some blood on the tiger's neck. The wound instantly healed. She could also feel a connection being made between the animal and her. So I can heal other beings with my blood, can I heal my self? She cut herself and did what she did to the tiger. It was itchy, like a thousand ants walking over the wound. The cut healed itself without a scar. So, it does work. That's useful. So she can maybe heal other humans like this too. Better not try it because it is too risky. The tiger was now awake and staring at her. "Go." She was shocked to hear the animal, "What? You can talk?" The tiger seemed shock too, "You can understand me? I am not even talking in your language." "This is too strange. How can I understand you then? How can you understand me?" "Strange human, all of us can understand your language. By all of us, I mean all...animals. I have no idea how you can understand me. Maybe because you drunk my blood?" "Strange. Ok. I'll go. Stay safe, tiger. Do you have a name?" "Yes but you can't pronounce it. You can call me whatever you like." "I will think of a name. I am terrible at making up names." "So be it. Go." She went back to the wall, with the tiger following close behind her. "Do you think I can jump this high?" "I don't know. I can not. I have not seen any other of your kind jump that high. Maybe you will be the first." She took a deep breath. "Ok, I can do this. The wall is only about 30 to 40 feet. I can do this." "Stop mumbling and jump, lady." "Ok, ok. I am jumping." She jumped with all her strength. She went several feet higher than the wall. And her feet always seem to land gently, like a cat. She went back inside the house and read the books that Aurora gave, all night.
