The Queen of Vampires

New Friends-II

Mira was slapped back to the land of the living. Before opening her eyes, she immediately know that it was night time. She opened her eyes and saw a woman looking at her. Her eyes immediately went to her ears which were pointy. Her face was the most beautiful girl she had ever met. She could get loss easily in her adoring green eyes. She also had a silver hair that was shining like a star. She shake her head, stop staring at her, i***t.

"Umm...hello? Who are you? And why are my hands tied?" She could easily break out of the rope but she wanted to see what the woman was going to say.

"I already told you who I am. Remember?"

Recognition rushed through her. She immediately jumped and break the rope holding her hands, "Woman, I don't care how beautiful you are. You tied me up and made me fell asleep."

"What? You fell asleep yourself."

"You took so long in arguing with your buddies, it was boring. And I can sense them nearby." She yelled, "Come out of the door, I know you are there." She could hear their heartbeats although their heartbeats were extremely slow, they were still loud enough. "I said, I know you are there."

They slowly came out, "How in three hells did you know?"

She shrugged, "My special skills. Now tell me, why am I here? Tell me the truth or I won't go easy on you."

Lois laughed, "Go easy on me? My gods. I would like to see you try."

"As you wished."

She pulled back and punched her with all her strength but she dodged easily. What? How could she dodged her very fast punch? She tried to elbow her but she sidestepped again. Her elbow hit nothing. "Fine. I won't fight you anymore. Tell me why am I here."

"You gave up easily."

"It's not called giving up. It is called regathering strength while getting information."

"Smart. Well, you are here because we would like to add you to the battalion because, well, because you are different. And I am the only female in the army. We can't legally add women into armies unless the King order it. So we arranged a meeting with the king. We are about to go there without you but since you are awake, do you want to come along?"

"Yes, I will come along. Before going, I need blood."

This seemed to shock the 7 soldiers, "Blood?"

Lois was, however, not surprised. "Sure. You can drink mine."

"Are you sure? If one of us die, it will have a emotional impact on the other person."

"I don't plan on dying anytime soon."

"Fine, give me your hand."

Lois held out her hand. "Do it. We don't have all night."

She extended her fangs and buried it gently into her veins. Lois let out a gasped, "Ahh..."

Her blood was different from those of animals. It was stronger, tastier and had more...texture. As soon as her blood touched her tongue, she was filled with strength. She continued drinking for a few seconds before removing her fangs. Then as she do with all the animals, she pricked her finger and blood dripped onto Lois's fang marks. It instantly healed, leaving nothing behind. She could also feel a connection forming between them.

"Satisfied? Good. Let's go."

The rest stayed behind and Lois and Mira went to the King's room. The room specially prepared for the King and the Queen. The room was painted in disgusting green. The King had strange taste in colors.

"Your majesty, I, Lois have arrived." There were no guards outside of the King's room. It would be easy to assassinate the King. 

The King's voice appeared, "Come in."

She went in, followed by Mira.

"Who's that?"

"My new recruit, my lord. She show great potential. And to enlist her to my battalion, I need your official order to do so."

He pointed at Mira, "Is she asking with your knowledge or is she forcing you to join?"

She could hear Lois's thoughts, telling her to say yes. She considered what she should say. Lois basically force her to join but she didn't want anyone to be in trouble because of her. Then if the King found out that she was lying, she could be imprisoned  or worse, executed. She made a decision to help Lois. She wouldn't want to trouble anyone even if they did something to her.

"I wanted to join, your majesty. She did not force me to join." Technically, it could be true, if she ask her after leaving. Lois face didn't change but Mira could feel gratitude radiating from their connection.

The King studied Mira for long, keeping eye contact with her. After a long time, he nodded, "I believe you. I will address it in the morning. Since you want women to join the ranks, I will allow every woman in the kingdom or I should say, town to join the army. Now get out. I need to write a speech."

They walked back out, seemingly relieved that they haven't been executed.

"You know, I think I can talk with you without words."

"What do you mean? Through mind?"

"Yes, like I am talking to you right now. I am not using my mouth, see?"

Lois looked and see that Mira was indeed not talking.

"So you are talking with your mind, right now?"

"Yes, I think you can also talk with me. Just focus and you will feel a connection."

"I can feel it. Yes." She thought, "So if I think, she will hear my thoughts?"

"If I concentrate enough, yes. How did you think I called those animals? Hmm?"

"I didn't think about that. So how can you hear my thoughts?"

"Your blood."

"My-my blood?"

"Yes. When you gave me your blood, I form a connection with you. I think it's mainly because I healed you, I do not really know."

"No problem. You can call for my help anytime you need. Now I will introduce you to my 'friends'."
