Adventures Guild

960 Words
Kat decided to register at the adventure guild. The process of entering the town was a pain. Place your hand on this crystal. Then comes a 100 question survey in front of a lie detector. Kat was surprised that they didn't ask personal questions. Are you a boy or a girl? Have you had s*x? What size are your breasts? She would have screamed none of your Damn business! Kat got directions to go there. On the outside, it looked like an old church. Big reddish wood double doors with carving on them were pried open. Inside didn't look like an adventure guild. It looked more like a bank. The reception was behind bars with a slit to slide papers under the bars. The bars have a magical protection shield. No food or liquor is sold inside. The reception wasn't busy, so Kat got served quickly. "May I help you?" (Receptionist ) "I got stuff to sell, and I would like to sign up. I don't know anything about the adventure guild. I heard some stuff from a few adventurers. I don't know what is true or not. Can you give me the whole book on adventure guild before I sign up?" (Kat) "We can buy whole or partial. The only reason people join is because of the entering cities and towns. The guild card does the same as all those questions. The board over there is lists of escorts and wanted dead or alive posts." (Receptionist ) "Do you have reference materials? "(Kat) "I don't know what that is." (receptionist ) "Books on plants or anything else you normally buy. Like horn rabbits have very long ears with a small horn. It pushes out 500 babies in one birthing." (Kat) "Haha, 500 babies. Yes, we have a library upstairs. Most people don't read it. Suppose you want, you can read as much as you want. Do you still want to join?" (Receptionist ) "Yes, please." (Kat) "Have you ever handled a storage device?" (Receptionist) "At the gate was my first time seeing one. I got to admit transferring items between inventory to storage device was convenient. I thought I had to take them out at first. When my inventory gave me the option to transfer the item to the storage device, I almost piss myself. Because I wasted to much time there, I didn't ask one thing about it. Can I ask you about it instead?" (Kat) "Can you transfer the items you want us to buy to this device? You can ask anything. If I know the answer, I will answer it." (Receptionist) "If a storage device is full, can it be stored in inventory? Here I transferred them." (Kat) "Yes, you can. The Gullin Boar is 1'008 kg; that comes ten small silver and one small copper. The horn rabbits are one large copper each. Total will be one small silver, nine large copper, and one small copper. That is after I took the registration fee. Do you know how much 'Mar' you get?" (Receptionist) "Yes, that's an easy calculation. It's 191 'mar.'" (Kat) "Good, do you know about rounding up and down?" (Receptionist) "Yes, I do. You rounded up the kg on the boar because it was closer to ten then zero. That's why I got 101 instead of 100." (Kat) "Good that you understand. Some people give me a hard time on this subject. Because I rounded up this time, they expect me to round it up all the time. It's so annoying to explain why." (Receptionist) "Over one mar, they will cry? I'm not to attached to money to cry over a mar." (Kat) A little cat-kin tapped on Kat's shoulder. She is only 1.39m. She had to get on her tiptoes because Kat is 1.7m. Kat turned around, thinking there is a cliche scenario. When she saw a brown hair with black color bending on her ear, and green eyes. She was a cat-girl that looked like a ten-year-old. Kat wanted to hug her, but it would be improper. "Hello, my name is Emma. I need a piece of your hair to make your guild card." (Emma) "So cute! You can have anything you want, hair, blood, or whatever." (Kat) "T-thank you. I only need one strand of hair." (Emma) "Ok!" (Kat with a smile on her face brought down her head so that Emma could pluck one out) "Do I need to wait for you, or can I go upstairs to read?" (Kat) "I can bring it upstairs when completed." (Emma) "Thank you." (Kat) After she got her coins, Kat went upstairs to read. The library was more significant then she expected. It had a row of tables with about ten chairs. It also had three couches. There is a redhead girl with blue eyes sitting on one of the lounges reading a book. She looked almost as tall as Kat and around her age. "It's going to take a few weeks to read all of these." (Kat) "I wouldn't if I was you. What are you looking for; I can guide you to it?" (???) "I'm looking for books on plants. Things that I can collect to sell. That should do it for today." (Kat) "I suggest this book. It's about eatable plants. This information is useful; it might save your life. After that one, I give you another one." (???) "My name is Kat. Are you always here." (Kat) "Most of the time. My name is Rory. If I'm not here, my sister would be. My sister's name is Hana. We both could help you anytime." (Rory) "Thank you." (Kat) Kat got down to reading the book. It was disappointing. At least it had drawings of harvest items. The rest was a blabla tree has green leaves. If the classify a blabla tree, then Kat saw a lot of them with different fruits. The only time was helpful is if the leaves were an important part.
