Out in the world you reach for ponderosa pine, the Mad River, or a glimpse of high cirrus that whispers, “Touch, touch.” Inching out into this world you breathe the dream of August sap, wild current, night storm. Coming out in the world this very late at last, you touch the sun’s short rays with your tongue, a tongue unused to singing.
