The conference room was tense as the team waited for their boss, Richard, to arrive. Richard was known for his short temper and tendency to fly off the handle at the slightest inconvenience. As they sat around the table, each person nervously fidgeted with their papers, trying to avoid eye contact and praying they wouldn't be the target of Richard's wrath today.
The news of Paul being fired had gone viral and everyone was scared at Richard's attitude even though they are family yet he fired him.
Suddenly, the door burst open and Richard stormed into the room, his face red with anger. "What the hell is going on here?!" he yelled, slamming his briefcase down on the table. "I asked for that report to be on my desk by 9 am, and it's already noon!"
The team sat in stunned silence as Richard glared around the room, looking for someone to blame. "Well?" he demanded. "Who's responsible for this mess?"
Sandra, the junior team member, finally mustered the courage to speak up. "I'm sorry, sir," she said, her voice shaking. "I had a family emergency this morning and couldn't finish the report in time. I can have it done by the end of the day."
Richard's eyes narrowed as he stared at Sandra. "This is unacceptable," he growled. "I shouldn't have to deal with your personal problems on top of everything else. Get that report done, and make sure it's perfect. And if it's not, there will be hell to pay."
With that, Richard stormed out of the room, leaving the team in a state of shock and fear. They knew they had to walk on eggshells around Richard ever since his parent's death, always trying to avoid his wrath and hoping they wouldn't be the next target of his anger.

The moment Richard came out of the conference Hall he was shocked to see his grandfather in his office the moment he walked in.
"Grandpa, what brought you here?" Richard asked the old man who hasn't been in the company since his son's death.
"I have something important to discuss with you, son." Mr. Eric said, urging his son to come sit down.
"Grandpa, what did you have to say urgently that couldn't wait until I am back home?"
The father sat at the head of the table, his hands folded in front of him as he looked at his son with a stern expression then he took a deep breath. "I couldn't wait because it's urgent and she will be coming today."
"She?" Richard raised a brow at his grandfather wondering what he was talking about.
"I've arranged for you to marry the daughter of a good friend of mine. I know you may not have feelings for her, but I believe this union will be beneficial for our family."
Richard sat across from his father, his brow furrowed in confusion. "I don't understand, grandpa I'm not ready to marry yet, I just want to face my father's company and carry on his legacy and aside from that I have someone I love."
Mr. Eric sighed, his gaze softening slightly. "I understand that you have feelings for this person, but she's not suitable for you. She comes from a poor family and does not have the connections or resources to benefit our family. This marriage will bring us prosperity and security. It is my duty as your grandfather to ensure the well-being of our family, and I believe this is the best decision for all of us."
Richard's brow dropped in surprise, he had tried to keep his relationship with Felicia secret, he never knew that his father already knew about their relationship. "Grandpa…how…how did you…"
"How can I not know that my son is seeing someone? But you can't marry her."
"Son." Mr. Eric said as he turn to face
The son sat in silence, his heart heavy with sadness and frustration. He knew his grandfather's decision was final, and he had no choice but to accept it. But the thought of spending his life with someone he did not love filled him with dread. He looked up at his father, his voice shaking with emotion.
"It was your parents' decision that you should marry into the Hallow family since they are good friends with our family now that they are gone you can't fail them and we have to marry Elizabeth Hallow."
"I'm sorry grandpa, but I can't." Richard said, shaking his head, his eyes filled with dread.
He never wants to have this kind of disagreement with his father at a time like this.
The grandfather stared at him, his expression grave. "I know this is not easy for you, son. But I have faith that you will come to love her in time. She is a good woman and will make you a good wife. Trust in my judgment and all will be well."
"I won't grandpa.".
"You will have to."
Richard knew that his grandfather is a strong-headed man and doesn't give up easily, which is one of the tactics he used in building the Big E dynasty.
"I'm not interested." He said this time looking at his grandfather in the eyes with so much rage in his eyes, one thing he never did before.
His blue eyes are always calm and filled with emotions whenever he stares at his grandfather but right now his blue eyes look like a stormy sea that's about to explode.
"By 6 o'clock you will be having a dinner date with Elizabeth Hallow, make sure you are there on time." Mr. Eric said, standing up from his chair with a deep frown on his face.
"I will be taking my leave now."
"I will not show up," Richard said after making him pause on his track.
"If you don't your father will be disappointed in you because this was the only request he asked of you and now that he is dead it seems as if you have no respect for him because of an ordinary woman. Wake up son make them proud."
