RACHEL'S POV
The remaining days of Entertainment Week went by fast. Besides, it was all just the same thing. We went from booth to booth, we participated in various competitions, we played games, and just had fun in general.
Today is Saturday and my only plan this weekend is to lie in my soft and comfy bed. It was a nice and chilling morning until someone ruined it. "Rachel!" Kenneth yelled as he burst into my room. "What?!" I asked in annoyance.
"You gotta help me," he said as he stood beside my bed. I sat up and furrowed my eyebrows at him. "Make sure it's important or I'm gonna kick your a*s," I responded. "What do girls like to do on a date nowadays?" he asked as he sat beside me. I groaned and laid back down, my back facing him. I knew it.
"Oh, come on. This is important to me," Kenneth pleaded. "But not for me, so don't get me involved," I replied and threw a pillow at him, which he unfortunately caught. "Rachel, please. I'm getting lost again," he said with a desperate look on his face. I sat up again and looked at him with a judging expression. "What do I get in return?" I asked in a negotiating tone. "Anything you want," he said and pointed two fingers at me.
Almost forgot. You must be confused why Kenneth's in our house. They only live across us, which explains our long friendship. "Anything?" I asked to be sure of what I wanted him to do for me. He confidently nodded with his hand on my shoulder. I smirked as an idea popped into my mind.
"Okay, then. I'll help you," I finally agreed. "Yes!" he exclaimed while pumping a fist. "IF," I continued and he immediately became attentive to what I had to say. "you'll also let me choose what you'll wear on your date," I challenged. "Of course, you're good in fashion. I mean, your mom's a fashionista, so I bet you are, too," Kenneth immediately agreed without thinking that I could mess with his attire. What a foolish guy.
"Of course. Don't underestimate my fashion skills," I confidently said and he nodded. He is so happy that he didn't notice the little mischievous smile I secretly had. I can tease you as much as you tease me, Kenneth.
== AFTER AN HOUR ==
"What is this?" Kenneth asked in disbelief. This is how I dressed him up for his lovely date. I just made him wear a black oversized shirt and some baggy pants. To finish the look, he had sneakers on, a watch, some rings, and a necklace. It doesn't look that bad, to be honest. It's just the place where he's going with his date that will make it look bad.
"That's fashion. Some Korean guys dress up like that and I think it's cool," I answered while double-checking the look I made for him. "Yeah, it's cool, but this is not the right time to wear this," he frustratedly replied. "I'm supposed to have a fancy lunch date at a fancy restaurant and this is what you're making me wear? Plus, Sabrina is not into Korean guys!" he complained. I told you. It's the place where he's going that makes this situation funny. Wait.
"Sabrina? I thought she rejected you?" I asked with an obvious shock on my face. "And you thought I was going to give up? No way. I asked her again until she said yes," Kenneth explained. Is he obsessed with Sabrina or something? I bet he's going to forget about her after a few days and find another girl. He only respects his mom and sister, so I don't know why he can't do that to other girls. He doesn't know how those girls feel when he does that. I don't even look like a girl to him.
"Oh, whatever. Just go to your date and let me chill. I was having a great morning until you came, so I had to waste an hour helping you instead of spending it just lying in my comfortable bed," I complained while he looked at me like an offended child. "Fine. I will go now, in this attire, and let my date get ruined," he retorted and left my room. I laughed at his childish behavior and went back to the warmth of my bed.
KENNETH'S POV
Why did I even tell her to have anything she wants in return for helping me? Look how embarrassing I am now. This look is very cool, okay? Like, I'm probably gonna have this kind of style when I'm out with the guys or if I'm going on a casual date, but wearing this on a supposedly fancy date? No way.
As soon as I started my car, my phone beeped and I opened it to see a text message from Sabrina, stating that she was already at the restaurant. Another text popped out and I clicked it and saw that it was from Rachel. 'Good luck on your date, playboy' with a wink emoji at the end. Playboy? At least I'm not as bad as Jeremy who goes out with one girl in the morning and another girl at night.
After a few minutes of driving to my destination, I finally arrived and I got out of the car as I parked it. I took one last look at my face in my car's side mirror and let out a deep sigh as a way to calm my nerves.
"Uh, Kenneth Harrison," I told the receptionist when I entered the restaurant and he looked for my name and nodded. "A Ms. Sabrina is already at your table," the receptionist informed. "Uh, yeah. She's with me," I replied as I got more nervous. I'm nervous about my date, but I am more nervous about what people will think of my clothing style in this kind of restaurant. "I understand, sir. Please follow me," the receptionist said and led me to where our table is.
As I was following the receptionist, I could feel a few stares at me because of what I'm wearing. I bet this is the first time they have seen an 18-year-old guy at a fancy restaurant wearing a VERY casual outfit. If Rachel didn't do this to me, I'm probably wearing one of my classy suits now to impress my date.
"Hey," Sabrina greeted me with a confused look as I sat down across her. "Hey, Sabrina," I greeted her back with an obvious awkward smile. She raised her eyebrows and I could see that she was trying not to laugh. "Look, I had a deal with a friend that involves my attire for today, so I'm sorry about this," I apologized. "No, it's okay. It looks good on you. It's just, you were the one who told me to wear a pretty dress so," she reassured me and chuckled. "This is embarrassing. Shall we take our order now?" I asked to get her attention away from my attire. She nodded with a big smile on her face. I thought she would hate me for wearing this, but I guess she's having fun. That's a good sign.
RACHEL'S POV
How did I find myself at the mall with Jessica? I was just relaxing and now I'm here. This is what happened earlier. So, I laid back down again after Kenneth left and took a nap for a while. When I woke up, lunch was already served, so I just took a quick shower before going down to eat my food. Then, the next thing I knew was that I was being dragged away from our house and now we're here at the mall.
"Remind me why I'm here?" I whined as Jessica scanned through the racks of clothes. They all look stunning, but I'm too dazed to look through them. "Because you can't lazy around in the weekend, so I brought you here with me," she proudly explained. "But I wasn't being lazy, I was resting!" I whisper-yelled at her. "Hmm, for me, they're the same," she said as she held a finger up to her chin as if thinking deeply and went back to scanning through the racks.
"Why didn't you bring Claire instead?" I complained. "Because she's on a trip with her family and they'll be back by tomorrow, so... you're the only one left," she explained without looking back at me as she was too focused on the clothes. I groaned and just scanned through the racks of clothes like Jessica.
"Ooh! This looks perfect on you," she happily said as she showed me the top she was talking about. It was a ruched mesh glitter top in light brown color. I stared at it, considering buying it since it's cute and I can wear it on any occasion. "This one too," Jessica raised another top to show me. This time, it was a black bishop sleeve crop top with a square neckline. I could wear it on casual days.
Jessica kept saying "this looks good on you" with every top she finds. "Ugh. Why does every single piece of clothing in this shop look perfect on you?! It's like they were made for you!" she complained as she gave up looking through the clothes. I laughed and tapped her back as a comfort. "This is how I can become a model. Anything I wear should look good on me," I proudly explained. Jessica scoffed and shook her head. "Let's just eat," she tiredly suggested.
We left the store after paying for the clothes we took from the rack and started looking for someplace to fill our stomachs. "Let's eat at that sushi bar," I suggested while pointing at the spacious restaurant with lots of people. They must be serving excellent sushi, which explains the number of people eating there.
We entered the sushi bar and ordered anything we found tasty by their names. I think we ordered a bit much. "I've never eaten at a sushi bar before," I randomly said. "Me either," Jessica replied and we looked at each other. "Don't you think we ordered a bit much for two people who haven't eaten at a sushi bar before?" I asked and we just looked at each other while thinking. "I guess. We never know. We might like it once we taste it," Jessica said after breaking our eye contact and I nodded in agreement. There's nothing wrong with trying new things, right?
