Alex's eyes were wide at Mitch's attitude. "Mitchie, maybe you shouldn't..." Scott can honestly say he didn't hear him, he was too angry. He clenched his fists at his sides, knowing better than to lay a hand on his Omega in the way his Alpha brain was screaming at him to. Mitch took his silence as an agreement. "See? You can't even defend yourself. I just yelled at you, and used obscenity. Where's my punishment, Alpha?" Scott still didn't say a word, his jaw clenched tight, though his eyes were slowly filling in with a bright red substitute. "Nothing? You have nothing to say to your disobedient Omega?" Mitch scoffed and looked away. "Figures." Scott took that as his opportunity to surge forward, grabbing Mitch's hair to tilt his head to the side roughly, as he bit Mitch's neck to initiate his Omega instincts to flare back up. Scott also managed to slap a hand over Mitch's mouth before he could cry out. But he pulled his body away completely in a few seconds.
Mitch's eyes were now blue, as he blinked up at his Alpha. "Oh..." Scott shook his head once, sharply. "Do not speak to me. Lay down, and go to sleep. Do you understand?" "Yes, Sir." Mitch responded immediately, rushing to throw himself on the bed beside Alex, and hide his face in Alex's neck. Scott took a deep, cleansing breath, before walking over to turn the light off in their room, and laid himself down on Alex's other side without touching him at all. Alex looked back and forth between them awkwardly, not wanting to say anything that could potentially make the situation worse. Mitch moved a little, to set his chin on Alex's shoulder, enabling him to see Scott. "Alpha? I'm really sorry." Scott didn't respond, knowing if he tried to, he would say something he'd regret. Mitch didn't understand that, and tried again. "Alpha, please... I don't want you to go to sleep angry."
Scott humored him, turning over to look at him. "It was a stupid argument. There was honestly no reason for it, and no purpose behind it. So let's just forget it even happened." "Even if it was stupid, something I said made you upset." "Well yeah. You know I don't like arguing with you. And I'm sick and tired of listening to you blame Alex for everything. He's your go to target for jealousy, and I don't understand why." "I'm sorry, Alpha." "Can we talk about this in the morning? I'm sorry, baby, I just.. Can't do it right now." "Sir, I'd much rather do this now. I won't be able to sleep knowing you're upset with me." "Then tell me why you toss Alex under the bus at every opportunity? He's moving out, remember? Who are you going to blame when he's gone?" Mitch truly didn't know. So he didn't speak. Alex pushed Mitch away gently, and sat up. "Would you like me to leave?" Mitch grabbed his arm and pulled him to lay back down. "Nuh uh. You're stuck here."
"Mitchell." Scott sat up, kicking the blankets off, before standing up and turning to face the bed. "That's exactly what I'm talking about. Don't talk to him like that." "I was just answering a question." Scott held up a hand. "Please, Mitch."
"What?" Scott took a deep breath, and shook his head. "Maybe... You two should sleep here. I'll go find somewhere else to stay." "Don't be ridiculous. Can't we just resolve this and then go to bed?" "My brain isn't working right now, Mitchie. I'm sorry. Too much... Alpha happening in my head."
Alex turned to Mitch quickly. "You should trust him, Minnie. Too much Alpha is never a good thing." Mitch met his eyes and frowned, letting out a sad noise. "But..." Scott hoped to leave quietly, but one of the Omegas spoke up. Alex shook his head once. "Sir, politely... I don't think it's wise of you to leave. Mitchie won't get any sleep, and honestly... Neither will you." Scott didn't turn around, but he stopped. "I don't think that's... I mean.. I don't want to be in this argument any more than you guys do. But Mitch, if you argue with me one more time, I don't think I'll be able to keep 'Him' under control." Mitch sat up. "Then don't. Let him breathe. I can take it." "I know you can. Because you'd just sass him right back. But... I think it would hurt me, more than it would hurt you." "Then I won't argue. We'll just... Lay down, quietly... Maybe snuggle with Alex. And we'll pick it up in the morning." Scott turned slowly. "Promise me... You're not going to argue with me." "I promise, Alpha." ************
Travis was sitting up on the couch, listening to the argument, when Jake sat up too. Jake looked at him. "Is that..? Scott and Mitch?" Travis was about to stand up, but he stopped. Maybe Jake needed to take this one. "Why don't you go check? Make sure Alex is okay?" Jake nodded once. "Good idea." Before he stood from the couch, to do just that. Travis let out a sigh, as he wished he could be the one to check on Alex. But he knew that Jake was who Alex wanted now, and Jake was going to need to step it up to be what Travis knew that Alex deserved. Jake came back a few minutes later, a wide smile on his face. "Alex is fine. Everything has calmed down now." "Good. I'm glad to hear that." "Yeah... He's such a sweetheart." Jake said, which was the last sentence spoken that night. The next thing Travis knew, Kevin was poking his healthy shoulder to wake him up. Travis sat up slowly, and looked around. "What time is it?" "Early. Five, maybe." "Thank you. Would you help me put on my sling before we leave?" Kevin grinned and nodded, turning to grab said sling as it sat on the ground beside the couch. As he worked to get all the straps undone, he glanced up at Travis a few times. "Thank you for staying. I wouldn't want you to get hurt." Kevin must've spoken too loudly, because Jake peeked up at them. "Good morning?" Kevin glanced over, wide eyed. "Oh, I'm sorry to wake you, Alpha. I should've been more quiet." Jake smiled. "It's fine." He sat up slowly, before standing up. "I have to pee anyway. Is Todrick awake? Oh, and is it okay if I use your bathroom..?" "Of course, Alpha. Yes, he is awake." Jake nodded once, and then turned to walk across the floor to get into the Betas' bedroom. Kevin then motioned Travis toward him, so he could situate the sling onto his shoulder. Alex emerged from a bedroom a few seconds later, looking around the room. Kevin glanced over and smirked at how lost he looked. "Did you drop a contact lens, or..?" "I don't wear contac-- Oh." Alex giggled at him, and walked closer to him to speak softer. "No, Sir. I was looking for Jake..? He woke up, obviously, and I was just going to ask him if he needed anything." Kevin nodded, still working the sling onto Travis' shoulder. "He's in the bathroom." Alex looked out one of the windows, and frowned. "Why is everyone awake so early? Are we going somewhere?" "I'm about to take Travis home. I woke up Jake in the process, on accident." "Is Toddy awake?" "Yes. You could say hi to him if you'd like." Kevin offered with a smile, turning back to Travis again. Travis jumped a little when Kevin tightened the sling, and Kevin apologized immediately. Alex walked over curiously, his head tilted to the side a little. "Woah, cool!" Kevin turned to him once more. "Be quiet, honey. Scott and Mitch are still asleep, remember?" He reminded him politely. Alex nodded quickly, one hand coming up to cover his mouth. "I'm sorry." Kevin pursed his lips, taking pity on him. "It's okay, Allie. Want to watch me do this?" "Yes, please." Kevin redid a few of the straps when Alex walked over, to show him how it worked, and when he finished he took a small step back. "See? All better." Alex grinned widely. "You're so intelligent, it's wonderful." He leaned a very small bit closer to Travis. "Travie? Does it hurt?" Travis smiled a little at the old nickname, but didn't make a big deal out of it. "No. It's fine." Jake walked back into the room, a smile on his face. "Aw, Alex! You're up. Todrick wanted me to tell you that he said hello." Alex smiled. "That's sweet of him." Jake stood beside him, resting one hand on Alex's back just above the elastic of his boxers as he leaned over to kiss him. Alex kissed back briefly, but moved away quickly, not liking the thought of Travis standing there watching the two of them. He blushed and looked to the floor. Scott walked out of his bedroom suddenly, his hand pressed against the cut on his forehead. "Kevin..?" Kevin turned quickly. "Ye--? Oh no, are you bleeding again? I need to redo the tape." Scott frowned at him. "Yes, please." Kevin took a small step toward him, but turned back to Travis. "Do you mind if I..? No, no. I made a promise." Kevin moved to meet Scott's eyes. "Would you go ask Todrick for help? I'm already late to take Travis to his house." Scott nodded, slowly heading toward Todrick. Alex rushed over, eyes wide at how hurt Scott seemed. "Can I help at all, Alpha?" Scott smiled at him, and put his arm over Alex's shoulders to put most of his weight onto Alex, so his ribs wouldn't hurt as badly every time he took a step. "Thank you." Kevin, curiosity overflowing, glanced between Travis and Jake to see how the two Alphas would react. Travis had just smiled at them, and looked away, while Jake stared for a moment too long before he turned to say something to Travis. Kevin hummed to himself. Interesting. *********
